        Hi jedamum!

don't worry! we are here to clear our doubts.I asked in PSLE-Sci thread. The parents should be know.I got answer as follows,
        Sun_2010 :

        Ceramic is man made.
It may be made from clay (natural material) but it is man made

lukily,ur son don't have materials. :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah:

        smartmummy,
now sa2, my boy has materials!
to trace back, your previous q&a , the answer in the PSLE thread is
        \"Ceramic is man made.
It may be made from clay (natural material) but it is man made\"

        my question now is
        1) are all metals natural?
        2) are all metal alloys man-made?
if 2. is yes, does it mean that the kid have to know which kind of metal is an alloy?

i told my son to just state that metal is made from materials that can be obtain from the ground. don't need to state 'natural material' or man-made material'. is it good enough? the confusion comes when there is MCQ.

        need help. thanks.

          Hi Jedamum!

For P3, I think, we no need to go deeper (atleast for my son’s school).I consider all metals are natural.

Need help. What is the definition of ‘hard’ in the topic diversity ( material)? It is not the opposite of soft and hard is not equal to not fragile. Am i right to say that? Is wood considered as hard? Can give an example of an object that is hard and not fragile other than diamonds. Hard : cannot be scratched easily???

hardness is the ability to withstand scratches.

                    piggylalala,
my boy is also having confusion over hard vs strong, fragile vs durable, elastic vs flexible. 🤷
whether wood is hard, have to have something to compare with.
hard objects can be glass. glass is hard, but brittle.
