For those interested in getting the Baby Z bread machine, do look out for the OG promotion. So far, I think the retail price is the lowest - I think about $250 (can't remember the actual amt) as long as you purchase another item for $50. So if u need to buy something anyway, get it from OG to enjoy great savings on the Baby Z.

Was at the Tangs members' sale yesterday and the Baby Z is retailing at $388 :yikes: (and that is supposed to be the offer price :faint: ). The original price is abt $488. :yikes:

WCW, wow really ! That shows how old my Breville is ! Your lao shi from breadmaking class ?

LLX04, store-bought bread more preservatives so stay soft and moist longer. Try steaming your bread on day 2 to see if it helps, else try to finish the loaf within 1 day.
Thanks for the tips, pixie πŸ™‚
I made the first bread using the z breadmaker. Tried the soft mode, honey bread. My colleage said taste like 'huat kuey'. hahah.

              oh, but taste nice :?

congrats on your 1st loaf :rahrah: . i also want to know like 'huat kuey' means good right?? post pic for us to see ... πŸ˜‰
Hi L-Earner, huat kuey texture is abit sticky and wet...not like the soft white bread. Not sure is beacuse of the honey.

I plan to try white bread (regular or firm) tonight. Will update texture tomorrow.

Anyone use other recipes besides the recipes book given by z? I have a bread recipe book but worried the z machine is too small....haa

Been quite a few mths since I last used my Z. Took it out yesterday to make some pizza dough. I wanted thin crust so I followed the Z recipe and divided it into 2 to get a thin crust as per instruction. But in the end I still got bread like base instead of the thin crust.

The pizza looked and smelled great. But when we cut into it, the centre was soggy. It was a disappointment. I thougt I did not bake it long enough so for the 2nd pizza, I baked it longer but the end result was only slightly better. Wonder what went wrong? Am I suppose to prebake the crust before putting all the toppings?

Update - i did not make white bread yesterday. My girl wanted chocolate bread instead. My house run out of chocolate powder so we substitude with milo powder. Used regular variation this time. The bread is soft n nice. I think the slightly moist texture was due to the honey the last time. πŸ™‚

First time used the zojirushi breadmaker and it was pretty good. Got the ok from the kids and hubby. It is so easy to use. πŸ™‚ Will recommend this to my friends. Its not easy to get the milk powder. There's only 1 brand that I saw in NTUC.

                      Good thing it's organic.
Hi nadya04, what brand of dry milk did u use? I couldnt find any in the 'baking' section of the supermarket so just used normal powdered milk for my first loaf with Z machine yesterday. Turns out ok but just wondering if there is any difference with other milk πŸ™‚

It seems we have mainly breadmachine bread makers here ?

Anyone tried No Knead Baking Method or Yeastless (Natural Leaven) Bread ?
Electricity cost going up  so I was thinking of trying No Knead method.
