Hihi one of the mummy here told me not to buy kukeri, she and her friends bot 5 sets and all cannot make it. -
Hi, is some here who bakes their own bread at home? Would you mind sharing with us the advantages and disadvantages of this? How much bread-making a week will help me recover the cost of bread-making machine, etc?

hi,
i am used an old Kenwood BM passed down to me, the non-stick layer on the kneader has peeled off slightly at several places.
Is it ok to use it to continue making bread?
if not , where to get new kneader?
or does anyone have non-working kenwood bm and donโt mind selling off kneader to me?
TIA! -

Hi karenmok - do allow me to share my perspectives. I bake bread at home when I've time, and if not, I just buy commercial bread. I don't try to force myself to bake if I don't have time, cos it'll take away the joy of baking. I've both a breadmaker and a good Kenwood mixer, and I'm able to use the appropriate machine for the recipes. For easy straightforward recipes, the breadmaker is very convenient. For more complex recipes that require multiple kneading steps addition of ingredients and shaping (eg. Panettone bread and cinnamon buns), I use my Kenwood mixer.
I think it's hard to quantify how you can recover the cost of the \"investment\". You have to calculate the costs of the raw materials as well, plus some intangibles - eg. the bread you bake at home will be very fresh and free of preservatives. You can consider getting a basic breadmaker such as Kenwood BM150 or Takada (which I have) which is great for beginners. Hope this helps! -
Hi anyone can enlighten me how good about this sharp R898m model double grill/ convection microwave oven in baking cookies. I just brought a set from best denki. The sale girl told me can do baking. Tks

I don't have a kenwood but I expect all breadmakers to be similar. Instant yeast is fine. Is your yeast expired? Did you add your ingredients in the order specified by your machine? Most bread machines stipulate that you put the wet ingredients first, followed by the dry ingredients, and finally by the yeast. Very impt - the yeast cannot touch the salt, otherwise it won't activate.hmmm, i need some help.

The kneading knife does sometimes get stuck in the dough/bread.
