RAD can skip grades? I was told CSTD no longer allows skipping of grades no matter how good you are.

      Yes, you can.

My dd skipped grade 2,3 to grade 4.
This is however depending on the schools policies.

Back to DSA ballet, the other school I know of via Ballet is MGS, Tanjong Katong girls, Paya Lebar Methodist.
You can visit their websites to find out more.

Thanks for confirming that, can actually skip more than one level grade, for RAD. In your case, your daughter managed to skip 2 level.
(the ballet centre where your daughter learning, is rare)

      back to reality ...
many ballet Tr are un-willing to let their students skip grade.
      Why ?
because to let their student skip one grade means that ... ballet Tr lose income $, for that particular lower level skipped. More often than not, Tr un-willing & unhappy, to let kid skip level (due to loss of income)

And the ballet teacher can always open new classes to take in new students starting from lower grades. To me, it is a mentality issue. Singapore ballet teachers are \"kia-si\" and emphasized a lot on foundation - so even if the student dances very well, they would prefer the students to go through the levels. Most ballet teachers whom I know allow the students to skip grades are mostly because of age restrictions, not because they dance well. Even the Singapore education system, MOE does not really allow students (though there are very rare exceptions I heard) to skip levels just because they are smart.

Hi phtthp, you may like to check with your DD's ballet teacher about the character shoes. My dd's ballet shoes and all her ballet friends' character shoes and skirts are all borrowed from ballet teacher. Usually parents will donate the items they no longer need to the ballet teacher. Instead of throwing away ballet items, we have been donating the items back to the ballet teacher.

When is the RAD exam in April?

Usually around 2nd week to end April.

My DD's ballet exam is right after the March school holidays. It is on the first week of Term 2 (3rd/4th week March). I prefer her ballet exam to be over ASAP as it is taking too much time away from her academic revision time.

If you are looking at first hand, can buy from Sonata. By the way, there is no size 13.5 or size 14. After size 13, the child is \"upgraded\" to adults size 1,2,3, and so forth.
