Hi everyone,
I would like to find out more information about CSTD, such as what are the available grades, how marks are awarded etc. Where would be a good place to obtain these details. Many thanks in advance. Cheers -
How about the marking system, for rad ballet ?
Is it similar to above cstd marking system, ie. pass plus is 70 to 74 ? -
Many thanks sembgal for the details!

RAD marking scheme:
0-39 Standard not attained
40-54 Pass (Bronze)
55-74 Pass with Merit (Silver)
75-100 Pass with Distinction (Gold) -
Wow! It looks like RAD scoring is easier to get distinction because the child has to attain at least 75 marks only to get distinction. My girl got between 85 to 94 for her CSTD, so that means if my girl were to do RAD syllabus, she can get distinction easily. Is it? Should I change her to RAD or continue with CSTD?

Go check out the RAD website for the criteria and the marking scheme.... I wouldn't say it's easy especially with the introduction of new syllabus. -

When the new RAD syllabus change and will all the RAD ballet teachers be equipped to teach the girls?
My girl is currently learning CSTD from a ballet teacher. Initially wanted RAD teacher as due to relocation, the RAD one is nearer. The 2 teachers I mentioned learnt ballet from the same \"sifu\" and that \"sifu\" is still teaching. My husband said not to keep changing ballet teacher but do you think if my girl learnt from her ballet teacher sifu is better as she is an old bird, very experienced and knowledgeable in this field. Kindly advise if I should change to that senior ballet teacher because she has both RAD and CSTD exp. -
The new syllabus change in year 2012 Apr and currently the system is still in improvised stage because from what I see my girl learn in grade 1 compared with this year grade 1 is different. If you will want the child to switch, you will need to check with centre conducting RAD exam and understand better.

If the teacher is qualified and your child is progressing well with her, why need to switch?
