JEI/PSLE Math - Discussion

Yong HL:
Thanks for sharing.
Hi maltbibimaltbibi:
Hi Yong HL
May I know how long has your girl been there? Do you see any improvement in her Maths?
Thanks.
We joined them since april this year. So far her maths concept somewhat did improved. JEI maths relieves me from teaching new concepts which i cant teach. So after that i do the reinforcement at home. Not so \"siong\"
I find that my girl is quite weak in concepts and needs repetitive revision. If JEI can help her, I can concentrate other subjects with her. -
No problem at all
JEI does relieve me in teaching new concepts part. Even for her test questions which my girl got wrong and i simply couldnt get her to understand the solution, i will ask JEI teacher to help explain to my girl. so far so good

Hi Yong HL,coolit:
How will they customize the learning? This sounds good!
ok, in my case, i had this problem of teaching multiplication & division last term to my girl. But she has not touched on this for her JEI maths workbook. So I told the teacher i couldnt teach and ask for her help. So she stopped the JEI maths workbook and taught my girl the multiplication/division concepts for the entire lesson. It kind of relieves me
then she goes back to her JEI maths book the next lesson. So its not those \"ask after the end of the class type\"
That is really customized!
Just wondering if they do this, would it affect the pace of the class in general?

Thanks for the feedback! This will be very helpful. :thankyou:Hi forever_kiasu
My girl is in P1 and she is with the amk branch. Her teacher is Rebecca who is also the branch manager.
Both my girl and myself like it there so far. In fact, i find their teaching method very flexible eg i can highlight to them the topics which i find it hard to teach my girl or she is weak in and they can take it from there. very customised i will put it

coz in the 1st place, every student in the same class will be doing different workbooks based on the diagnosis test. For P1 and below, its 100% JEI Maths (meaning doing JEI maths workbooks based on the diagnosis test, so everyone will be doing different topics books although they are in the same class). Its only from P2 onwards where a certain time will be used doing JEI maths workbook and another certain time doing integrated programme (where ALL students in the class stop their JEI maths and do the same problem solving session together, from what i understand).
I kind of like this approach coz there is no time wasted on topics where kids already adequately equipped and to tackle the areas they are weak in

It is at Blk 163, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4. There is a carpark directly in front of the centre. Refer to link:-
