Science Guide Books

PiggyLalala:
Hi Piggylalala,
hi champion,
Seems like I have different views from your dd.
I found the 2nd book a easier book as in each worksheet is only of 2 pages and with some fill in the blanks questions too. I always ask my son to work on these worksheets first before attempting other assessment books.
As for the 2nd book, my son only did the chapter on human systems. Questions are quite ok ( as in he can do most of the sums ) - not too sure is it because the questions are similar to that of the first book ( since same author )
Each chapter in the book comes with notes and 3 exercises. Exercise 1 ( recall and basic process skills questions. ) Ex 2 ( integrated process questions ) and Ex 3 ( application question ) one question only.
Maybe you can take a look at the book in popular and compare with the FAQ ( lower block) by Janet Sim too. I am thinking that there is no need to get so many books by the same author as the questions may be repetitive.
Thank you so much for your sharing; really appreciates much! :snuggles: :hugs:
Yea, I have the FAQ by Janet Sim and not intend to get anymore ( :xedfingers: I hope I can control!
).....

Hi sista Brenda,
Hi Champion,
I was at Popular yesterday and saw the Upper Block version was available for sales!
The books cost about $15++!
WOW! That is really ex lor! I have the FAQ by Janet Sim (Lower Block) so will not be getting others...( :xedfingers: I hope I can control my buying power!
)

Champion,
As long as there's no better guides or assessment book, you will be able to control right?

No Science enrichment class for my son...hope he cooperates with us till end of PSLE. Same goes for my daughter in P1...just introduced her to \"living things\" today.
No science enrichment class. Hope to handle Maths and science ourselves all the way to P6. :xedfingers:silverhorse:
Hi all,
I'm just asking for opinion, besides doing these assessment books, does your child/children still attend any science enrichment classes ? DS is in P3, and so far, I bought him the Ultimate Science Guide, so far its OK, but intending to buy the above recomended ones. -

The best and 'safest' thing to do is to avoid this thread...in case you are tempted to check out the latest assessment posted. -
you donโt need too many assessment books. Just about 2 or 3 good ones, get through them and then work off the Exam papers from TOP schools. The exam papers are free from the web. That should more than enough to get your child through the year. Youโre not limited to 2010 papers, you can have 2009, 2008โฆ Plenty of papers for drills.
Save some money for special treats for your child.
Donโt get caught up with the assessment book bug, most of the time, the books end up collecting dust.
