Hi All - seek your kind advice.
My son is getting a DSA offer from Temasek JC. However we are confident that based on his O-Level results he would be able to get Victoria JC. What is the general perception for the 2 JC - TJC and VJC?
Which has better Science/Maths department?
Which has better support structure/guidance for preparing for Overseas University Applications
Whats the difference in cultures between the two
Any other key difference between the two JCs
Any guidance will be much appreciated -

There is a brand of granola bars where, over the past few months, first the no. of bars in the box was reduced, and I am sure the size of the bars has shrunk too. But the box has remained the same size. The price is about the same.
Yea qty reduced, price increases, double. Milk 950ml, milo sticks reduced..next maybe the content weight in each stick?Sigh… the underlying truth in life is that EVERYTHING will be more expensive over time.

Subjects:English, Chinese, Math, the Sciences
Levels: Primary to Junior College
Teachers:
* graduates of top Universities
* taught in school
* 10 - 25 years of teaching experiences
Location: East
In our classes, we deconstruct the topics into simple, basic building blocks.
What we cover -
English Language:
We do a deep dive into the elements of the language. This is helpful for Paper 2 in primary schools, and for editing in secondary schools.
Writing -
We teach you, in details, a methodology to structure your writing for English situational and creative writing in primary schools, and for expository and argumentative writing in secondary schools.
Comprehension -
Be introduced to different types of comprehension passages, and the process of active reading. Learn to identify types of questions. Understand why the examiners set certain questions. Be clear what the questions are testing for. We teach you a framework for answering the different types of questions.
For secondary school students, we guide you to summarize using a simple step-by-step process.
Chinese Language:
Similarly, we cover in details, the different elements of the language and how to apply them. We teach the techniques to effortlessly write Chinese compositions.
The sciences and mathematics:
We break down the topics into really simple building blocks. We show you the relation to what you have learnt, and are going to learn.
We teach you the process skills, thinking skills and heuristics for maths problem-solving and scientific answering.
You will learn scientific vocabulary and concise writing.
From our experiences, you will be cued in on the topics to focus on.
Our lessons are interactive, relating classroom-learning to real-life applications.
We recommend the best references to you and you get bespoke materials.
We make learning simple and effortless for you.

Wow, that is expensive man. Hmm. then I might as well get the $13 plastic Dino I saw at the ELC shop in United Square the other day.
-
Toys getting sophiscated these days. Soon they will be picking up the newspapers. . I think price should drop after they become common place.

Anyone ordering the Pleo for xmas?
-
No... I didn't get the PLEO, but got this http://www.roboboaonline.com/:
http://www.slashgear.com/gallery/data_files/7/4/Roboboa_2.jpg\">
Didn't really want to get it, but then I had to keep my promise on rewarding my son for working hard and doing well for his fencing.
So it went like:
Me: But you already got that robo doggy. You hardly play with it.
Him: But I really want it.
Me: OK, tell me why you really want it.
Him: But I really want it.
Me: So tell me what it can do that the doggy can't do.
Him: But I really really want it.
Me: Mummy's gonna kill me if I buy it for you.
Him: But I really want it.
Me: You don't mind mummy killing me huh?
Him: But I really want it.
Continued on for 30 mins before I caved. If he only shows such determination for his exams... -
hmmm...this looked like a shaver on steriods.
very single minded focus...your boy I like. -
Toy R rus is also selling another model of the toy that looks like a Spider, I was very temped to buy (in the name of my kid grin) The problem is there is no demo set to try out how it is.
So is the Snake thing fun to play? How is it? -
they should sell it together with a ladder...so can play snake and ladder ...kekeke.
-
Well… it comes with a wall, and it’s driving me up it. The noise… the noise…
The thing dances, shoots lasers, rolls, and tracks your movements. It also works like a guard dog… er… snake, with sensors and stuff. The only good thing about it is that now my son finally wants to sleep by himself in his room… just so his guard snake can wake him up. Wonder how long the fad will last. -
Well...looks like PLEO has gone the path of the dinosaurs.....darn, I was hoping for it to evolve into a cute cute doggy before buying....
