[UPDATE] My Pinoy maid only managed to collect her passport on 17 Apr which takes almost 2months + for the whole process. So, for Pinoy maid, shd apply for new passport earlier…
I am planning to let her go back for home leaves from 1 - 15 Jun 2013…
Thanks all for the sharing on passport renewal! -
Hi
My maid has just renewed her passport and I have just received letter notification from MOM to renew her work permit which is expiring on 29 Jun 2013. I am planning to let her take her home leaves from 1-15 Jun 2013. Like to check and confirm my next action steps are correct:
Step 1: Buy ALL relevent foreign maid insurance from NTUC Income
Step 2: Buy air ticket for maid’s home leave from Jetstar
Step 3: Apply online for the renewal
Did I miss out anything?
Appreciate kind souls’ advice please.
Thank you!! -

You will need to get OEC from the Philippine embassy, it's only $5.50. If not, she will have trouble getting back to Singapore, as she does not have the proper documents.Hi

Hi
My Indonesian maid wanted to for home leave again.
Does she need to obtain another stamp on her passport from Indonesia Embassy?
She just went back last year Nov/12 and been renewed her passport/ wp & got the stamp last year as well.
Please advise. Thanks. -
Hi, if my Filipino helper’s passport is expiring in June next year and wants to go home for good, can she still work all the way till May/June? Does she really need 6 months validity to go back to Philippines?
Thanks -
I wonder if any of you have renewed your Indonesian FDW's passport recently? My maid has been there 3 times this week. First visit, she didn't bring ANY documentation and spent half a day there. Second visit, she went too late and was told to go home (another 4 - 5 hrs)... Third visit, she finally managed to submit her application (10am till 4pm!) and she came back with a collection slip. This slip says either one of these could collect the passport for FDW - the said FDW, the employer, or someone staying with the employer.
However, my maid insisted that she was told that the employer must go for interview (again!) and sign a new contract. We already signed the contract at the embassy (less than a year ago!)... and now supposed to sign again (to get new passport)... and supposedly sign yet again in November when the actual WP is renewed? :scratchhead: :scratchhead:
I mean, seriously??? :slapshead: :slapshead: -
You shouldn’t need to go to the embassy for renewal of WP. That’s under MOM,not the embassy.

Seriously the first thing that came to my mind was.... is your maid trying to make frequent trips to the embassy so that she can while her time chit chatting with other maids???I wonder if any of you have renewed your Indonesian FDW's passport recently? I've done the renewal for my maids at least twice and even went down before to do the contract for the KTKLN card as maid was going back on home leave.
I personally feel that some of the \"time there\" could have been avoided. Eg. find out the exact requirements online, eg. forms, documents, etc... be there when the embassy opens, have her pic taken, things can actually be settled within the morning. I recalled doing it within 2-3 hours (including submission and contract). For contracts, employer need to be with them to sign off.
For WP, it can be renewed online. I recalled doing the collection at Tanjong pagar area on saturday morning and apparently the queue was fast.
