      tracytmks,

You very good \"tong\" for so long, anyway you already trained
yourself to manage the system in the household so just one
eye open one eye close will be easier to deal with people that
feel a little awkward with new members addition in the house like
yourself even though you have been there for so long,

I feel it is probably the culture of your Hubby family nothing to do
with you..... just their own style of dealing with people staying in the
house......some household are very \"clickish\" - like only like to
\"champ-po\" only with own people ...strange but do exist
      in this 21st century ??? ๐Ÿ˜›

be good sista jia yu jia yu :celebrate:

          Hi tracytmks,

We need each otherโ€™s support where inlaws are concernedโ€ฆeven if itโ€™s just moral support. Itโ€™s really frustrating when you have either the MOTHER-in-law or SISTER-in-law who creates problems without stepping on their toes to begin with.

Hi tracytmks, another option is to sound hubby out for a thorough

spring cleaning for YOUR house. You know... ... to dispel the
\"there are mosquitoes in your house fable\".

Call pest company and those like amah on wheels to do one shot
clean up... well... it IS for the benefit of the entire family, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Your MIL sounds like those petty-over-small-things-kind and that can
definitely be extremely frustrating. Are you working or are you a stay
              home mom?

My MIL is the lazy to do housework kind. In fact, i can count the times
she is \"told\" to do some housework (by FIL) when it gets kinda too
messy. But she will constantly complain to sister in law that i am
              lazy to do housework.

My husband, my girls and i used to set aside one day in a fortnight to
dust up everything and clear our stuff. We will turn on pop music and
work together as a family. ๐Ÿ˜„ Yes, we sure know how to make housework
fun and sharing the work is also a weekend bonding for us. After all the
work is done, we will all go chill at the swimming pool and have dinner
              outside together.

MIL does not like the idea of her son doing housework. She has this
mentality stuck in her brain that \"I\" MAKE HIM DO housework and it
is not MAN to be that kinda husband. ๐Ÿ˜ž She will carry the tales of
me making him do the housework to my sister in law when she visits
them and says i'm very un-thoughtful... oredi my hubs has to work to
support the family... on rest days... i make him help out when it is MY
job as the the wife to do it. ๐Ÿ˜ She go on and on with... my poor son..
with wife like that... (etc) ...

During one of our clean ups which i can vividly recall, she suddenly
became so frustrated with our routine fun cleaning... came to me
from the kitchen (while hubs was cleaning the toilet)... blatantly
shouted behind my back (while i was cleaning) amidst the loud
playing music & this was what she said... \"You sure know how
to \"train\" your husband. My son never liked to do housework
and definitely never enjoying it like he is now... singing and
              whistling... You're good.\"

Then, came the usual crucial ending... she rolled her eyes at me.

I just stood there going :whut:

1st time kena like that i was kinda :(.
I didn't tell hubs cos he'd say i'm petty to pass on such remarks
to him. So i just ren... after a few times i kena same thing i just
smiled and acknowledged that YES... ahakz... ... i suppose
i trained him well huh. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Better than how she did!

To justify the truth, hubs has always been very good with housework
& takes own initiative to help out around the house. No need to ask or
request... plead... or submit form... ... or force.... In a sense,
              he's thoughtful & a natural. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It's nice to have a man who likes a clean house and makes effort to
help out around the house to maintain it so... He knows that there are
other things i gotta do as a stay home parent (especially with the children)...
other than just the house chores. His favourite part of coming back to
a clean house is also a nice steaming home cooked meal... and that's
where i make it work. ๐Ÿ˜‰

              Hang in there, tracytmks.. :hugs:

                Hi buds/tracymks,

I can't sleep early at night, waking up at 8am. Hubby prepares breakfast for son and brings him to school. I'm VERY sure any MOTHER-IN-LAW will have one mindset about me. Other than that, I do the housework. Used to vacuum twice a week but since hubby bought the irobot, I've not done any vacuuming. Instead, I spend more time at son's study table preparing his work for the day, compiling Science notes & gossiping here at KSP. ๐Ÿ˜‰

MOTHERS-IN-LAW are heartache to see their sons doing housework.

Yeah.. me too. Can never fall asleep early even if i wanted to. I've
been insomniac since forever. If you see the time on some of my posts
here... you'll know i'm the resident owlette here. Heck, we even have a
Club Night Owls for ourselves. Less active now... with exams and all i guess.

                      Buds,

As much as I try to sleep early, I get more panicky when I canโ€™t. With exams coming up, I have problems sleeping.
Other than preparing breakfast and sending son to school, I do everything else. SO, whatโ€™s the big deal ?

Well, hubby bought the irobot so that I donโ€™t have to slave myself sweating over vacuum. I resisted but hubby insisted.

Wow, I do envy you for your hubs. Perhaps you should have gently told her and smile, please dun tell sis in law, else she may be jealous and sad HER own hubby don't help her.
