This year, I'll have :grphug: my friends here for company when MIL Butterfly does her fluttering job once again. I simply lurves how she panders after SIL and her kid; and totally ignores mine  except to scold them - sometimes for no apparent reason.

Little does she know that SIL is after her money. Hah!

Hi, do any of you skip the reunion dinner with the in-laws? What are the excuses you gave?

CNY means having to put up those drama-mama nonsense again

I usually travel during CNY. Its been like this for years and my PIL are inmmune to it, though they expressed their displeasure.

My parents are cool about it...

So, no nonsense at all for me w MIL. She'll grumble and grumble lor...

Erm ... does your ILs have reunion dinner with their parents or their ILs? If not, I think it is definitely justified to say that you are following their example, and they can't fault that.

I have my own frustrations and just told my hubby that effectively from next year, the reunion dinner / lunch with ILs must follow my schedule, otherwise, I am not heading back, simply by virtue of following their example of not having reunion feast with their ILs or parents. I can't be faulted for following their example, right?? 😂

Cannot skip or else hubby will have a big fight with me.
My SIL organizes it every year bcos the old one doesn't want to do anything...totally unbelievable...it's her responsibility.

So we go and eat and spend most of the time yakking with each other.

                        Janet,
Although my boy is nt pissed off as he will be meeting his cousin, he is having the kind of 'hear no evil, see no evil' towards the adult.

Reunion dinner suppose to be a happy occassion but due to people \"crazy for affection and show off attitude\", making it unpleasant occassion. Sometimes i am just wishing i can be skip the dinner with inlaw and having it with my mum and niece.... the feeling will be 1000 x different.... 🙂
