Zoophonics

Agreed, i personally dun like Zoo Phonics in Serangoon, the admin is kind of rude.
When I say i will consider wan to cont or not, she straight away give me the termination letter to ask us to sign (sound forcing & unfriendly) & said will immediate affect & only explain the further course after we signed. Damn stupid procedure, they should explain to us before we make the decision right? & their down payment method is not flexible at all.
What i can say is Zoo phonic is good, my boy English improve when he attend 2 yrs course, its difinitely not the school problem, the school should consider to change the admin, if not their business will getting worse. -

hi all, any comments on Tampines, Serangoon or Siglap branch ? Any good teachers for nursery & K1 class ? Please advise, thank you.
Tampines:
I'm not sure about now but when my boy was there in 2010, it was rather horrid. The teacher was an 'auntie' who couldn't even speak properly (much less teach phonics).
The system is wonderful and the materials are great.
It's the teachers that turn me off.
Try GUG. If I recall correctly, they use Zoophonics too. And their teachers are very fun & friendly. -

Any comments on the teachers at Tampines branch?
My elder boy goes to the weekly enrichment under teacher Billy( not sure how to spell her name.)
Has been under her for about 2 years. She's from phillipines, gentle and encouraging. Many a times, in the morning my boy would say he don't want to class... After class, when you ask him how was class, the answer is FUN :?
Was getting worried that my K2 boy still could not read in the beginning of the year. Suddenly, after the cny holiday, he just decided that he could do it, and shown tremendous improvement. All thanks to the encouragement from the teacher.
Now my younger boy also joins her in the weekly enrichment class.
You may not see immediate results. My elder boy met my expectation of being to read before he primary 1. -

It's unfortunate that you have such a bad experience. My experience with them has so far been very good. My boy's teachers happens to be all from phillipines. Teacher Noreen, May, Billy. Maybe due to their influences, he speaks proper English and sounds a little slang....sk_star:

waited for weeks for feedback on their branches in the east...huh, at last heard it from you.
Thanks for your sharing & feedback ! -
My son has been with the tampines branch… I can’t say enough about the teachers at the Tampines Mart branch. I can’t vouch for the entire franchise but my son goes to a branded ang moh international school in the afternoon, however I feel they do not prepare him enough for P1.
Hence my son goes to 2 different schools M-F. The teachers at the tampines although worksheet heavy for sure, they are fantastic, their english is excellent and I do believe at least one of them holds an MBA from a reputable PHIL. university…
My son can read (didn’t learn it at LW but at Tampines Zoophonics), he can write simple sentences since N2… yes their program is almost 100% like GUG, my son has been there too but if you compare the fees 800+++ per month to 380 dollars Zoophonics wins hands down… just my 2 cents worth. I cannot speak more highly of the teachers at this branch. I would give it a try before you make up your mind. -

I have PMed you.
To others,
I entrusted my child to them for 1.5 years; only to be disappointed by them.
From the stories i heard from my own friends & coupled with my own bad experiences, I can only say \"be very involved if you wanna send your child there and enter with your eyes wide open\" - this applies to the East outlets (east outlets and 2 other outlets have the same manager so management style the same - just different admin & different teachers). -
My daughter is attending zoophonics at JW branch. She is in the toddler class for the past 6 months and she really enjoys it. Her teacher is very patient and nice. Although the teacher doesn’t seem to be local but I am fine with it as i think she speaks well.
I chose Zoophonics out of all the enrichment classes such as GUG, Bibinogs & etc is due to the location & curriculum. I like it that the curriculum for toddlers consists of singalong, Phonics (A-Z), storytelling and crafts. It is an all-rounder. Now my girl is 2 years old and she knows how to pronounce most of the alphabets & do the actions.
Right now the class is still parent-accompanied until 3 years. Not sure if she will cry when she gets promoted in future, lol. -
Is there a new branch opening at seletar airbase side? i am looking at a school that teach with phonics method for my 21 month old son.

Hi Mummies,
I just called the Thomson branch for Zoophonics for appointment not a very nice experience I should say. However I go down and evaluate the school 1st.
Anyone who send their kids to Thomson branch can share their experience on the teachers, are they good?
Thanks!
