All about Le Creuset and cast iron cooking
-
Does anyone have any experience with Le Creuset or cast iron cookware? I've been reading that it makes our food taste better. I like the idea that we can cook on stove, transfer to oven to roast or bake, and serve pretty in the same pot.
Anyone care to share?
Thanks -
I was looking for a couple of pots and saw their pots and pans. Wanted to get the whole set. The colours are so nice. But in the end, found them too heavy.

Ya, agree that the colours are so pretty. There's something about castiron cookware. Very rustic and mediterranean like.
Initially didn't want to get it as found it heavy too. Dh who is my dish washerwas not in favour.
But recently, Istean was having a 50% discount promo and I had some vouchers to redeem, so finally succumbed to temptation and bought an oval casserole. No regrets!!
Cooked my maiden dish - beef stew - for dinner and the meat was lovingly tender. Coupled with homemade bread, family gave it a thumbs up.
No photos to share as everyone digged in before I cd even whip out the camera  -
Gee.. they sure digged it good. :celebrate: Shlurrghp! *burp*
Is this Le Creuset thingy expensive? You're tempting me lar. -

hi
I am going to change to a induction hob. I am currently using WMF cookware that can be used for induction - is there any benefits to changing to Le Creuset as compared to retaining the WMF cookware? -
Cast iron is super heavy, have to think twice if you are the one handling the pots and pans all the time. But it can take high heat, retains heat well too.
