Mummy RRMummy: Another kiasu mummy concern over P1 enrolment
-
Hi all, I have been reading alot of the threads posted.. I found lotsa very interesting stuff... then decided to join..
I realized that I have turned into a very kiasu mummy. increasingly worried abt Pri School enrolment for my Y2004 DD.. -
Hi RRMummy, I’m like you …becoming very kiasu over my son’s P1 enrolment which will be this coming July i think. Which part of Singapore are you staying?
I’m in a dilemma on which school to enrol my boy. he’s not a fast learner and I think he won’t be able to handle too much pressure from homework. Any one with children from either schools can provide me with some advice? Which school will enable him to enjoy learning more? -

Don't stress don't stress....
I would have go for St Andrew for its affiliation....their express cut off point for affiliated students is pretty low. With that, basically your kid's next 10 yrs of education is already been taken care of....not to forget that its compound is big and new....
RRMummy,
Welcome to KSP -
Hi all, I'm staying in Woodlands but think not too many good schools in this area. Called up Chongfu today and was told too late for PV :!: Don't know how good is Woodgrove? Also considering to do PV @ Nan Hua and move there??!!
Don't know if it is all a right move.. want the best for my kid but also worried she will be over-stressed... :stupid: -
Hi Jedamum,
Thanks for your advice. Is your child also in St Andrew's? How's the school's standard ? Heard that their P1 do not need to sit for Semester one exams, which I think is good so that the children can adapt to primary school life at a slower pace but will this affect their standard when compare with other schools or the national standard? Any opinion on this?
Hi RRMummy,
Understand that Nan Hua is also a very popular school in Clementi district so I think its good to do some survey on past years intakes by Phases before you move nearer to the school as within 1 km is not a guareentee in getting a place. -

I wish!!! But don't think my husband want to rent a room at my mum's place just to qualify....he is already  having to visit every week.Hi Jedamum,

Anyway, depends on what you want for your kid - and how you think your kid will thrive in what environment.
The advantage of affiliation is that the kid get to learn at his own pace and participate more in extra curriculum rather than worrying about psle.
You can go and take a look at their website.. I think they are single session with Friday stretching to 3pm. -
Hi Puzzled,
Yup, checked out alot of the topics posted. Very good website but too bad I stumbled on it only this week..a bit too late..Yup agree Nan hua is a tough fight, if we will relocate I am thinking that area has a lot more 'good' schools than woodlands. But please correct me if I am wrong... but still keeping my options 'open'...
Hi jedamum, you are really active everywhere, kudos to you on your accomplishments with your kids!! I've learnt much from your entries. Thank you.
As i read the threads, I get clearer pictures from everyone else yet somehow more confused on what I should 'decide' for my gal..
she is very active, talkative, and her CC teacher commented that she definitely needs a school which can engage her in meaningful activities otherwise she will get bored and distracted easily...
i hope i see the light soon... -
