There are some groups or organisations that do it at the void deck, i saw such groups before. Does anyone know of reputable ones that do this? - go to your house void deck to conduct lessons?

micolh, oh no, sorry to hear about that.

My colleague was just telling me a similar not so positive experience with inlinex too. For her case, she went for the holiday camp and got the so called ‘free skates’ and it turned out the class size was big, got sales talk, terrible, service and skates also too big. Big skates are a no no, can twist ankle from what i understand. just be careful, If the deal sounds too good, there’s bound to be some compromise.

But to be fair, on the rental gears, i think should not rent lah, cos it is shared sweat and smells. should buy the gears…i think not unique to that skate school.

(this is our personal and probably biased comments, your own experience may differ from ours, we are just sharing our two cents views)

Does anyone has any feedback if a 2 hours roller blading camp (3 days- 2 hours each) is sufficient for a child to learn blading?

well, it all depends on how you define sufficient. You should be able to skate forward and brake in that time frame. However, some people skate like they're walking, so it all depends. Ideally, you should at least learn how to skate gracefully and at a brisk pace.

If you want to turn corners or put some speed into your skates, it will take longer than that.

I'm conducting a free Rollerblading class on 20 May, 2pm at McDonald's Bishan Park. The details are here: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=35511

              Hi parents. 🙂

I am roy teng, currently a part time private inline skating coach..

If you have kids who are embarrassed or afraid to learn skating in groups, you can get me to teach them 1 to 1.

I can give affordable prices which can't be named her, (else I would be deems as spoiling market) as I do it for a personal interest and hope to see more people enjoying the sports.

Do contact me if you are interested. 🙂

My dd took inline skating with skateline, she is in her 12th lesson now and she can skate with ease and confidence. She took a small group class with her classmate and his friend so encouragement from her friends' presence helped a lot.

We also bought gears from second lesson onwards.she didn't like it initially because she couldn't balance and she is the timid sort. But we are quite glad we pull through. 🙂

Ya the Skateline coaches are good. My son learned how to skate there and is now an SAV (skate assist volunteer, I think). Used to join them on their monthly night skates but hasn’t done that lately. Now at a stage where he uses the brakeless skates.

                    Hi Everyone,

Any parents (in Sembawang) have any opening for my child to join their inline skating package lessons?

                    Thank you.

                    Regards.
