Feels so sorry for my girl when she ended up crying doing her homework when we are teaching her... heart pain to see her struggling with her maths..
I'm looking out for creative writing class for my DD1... anyone who can recommend? I'm at West Coast... Is Adam Khoo good? or ICR? These two centres are very near my place so hopefully someone can share on them..

dd1 just handed over the Term 1 assessment schedule. I'm very happy that the school is very considerate, all assessments are held after CNY

DD1 has nothing lol.... she said nothing on mini tests and just standard spelling.

She only knows that she will have year end exams.

i wonder how my kid can cope wif the amt of sch work if it increases. i doubt i have time to teach him as i work full time. now the load is juz fine. he studys in neighhood sch...

DDs aren't in top school. You can go to Page 1 of this thread to see which school does our DS/DD goes to

DDs are in PLMGS so the pace is good for me, not those chiong , rat race type. Holistic for DDs and Me :rotflmao:

I am a working mummy also. You can alternate to coach on certain days. Example, run through his corrections in his maths workbooks. takes around 45 mins - Mon

then Wed, give a few pages of assessment to re-cap if he makes the same mistakes for his corrections or weak areas. - 45- 1hr.

Fri - talk to him on what he finds difficult in school (chit chat session) and note it down. find some time during weekend to run through?

thanks for sharing about the coaching part. my kid ah...does not absorb wat i teach him easily. either i am a poor teacher or he is a slow learner. sometimes after i teach and show him a few eg...he still cannot do. then got time constraint so got to put him to bed. but on weekends, i try to let him do assessment book.

this is a busy yr for me. still have to jia you.

Sometimes need to sleep on the problem. There are times I can't reach out to dd1. So I will sleep on it, the qn. Sometimes I will think of a new way to present the information that dd1 understands. Sometimes it will take me a few nights to have inspiration LOL. But sometimes dd1 just need the time and space to digest the information and fully understands it. Trial and error bah. The taste of success is great though. Jia you.
