Ya. Everyday she knows when she comes back from school, lunch at mil's place, come home must do work (her assessments/learning chinese), then she will do her reading before her nap. In the evening after dinner, she will need to practice her violin.

I think its easier when she knows what to expect.

Of course, days where i visit my mum or when the dad is on leave, then the schedule all goes haywire. 🙂

Hmm... There are + and - in the sum. I copied a question out of the book...

          34 - 8 = __ + __ =

          Suppose to take 34 - 10 and use the 10 to - 8...
          So 34 - 8 = 24 + 2 = 26

For 2007 kid, think this is too difficult. Unless of course your child is very advanced.

I only discover that my DS know simple addition through revising with my DD1. I was pleasantly surprised. 😄

yeah, i also thk it's too advance. even with Shichida background, we only do addition , substraction, multiplication on its own.. DD only can do addition of 1+X .. and she remembers the answer for tha additiona from 1+x to 9+x is also from the CD/shichida method..not until this level la for 3-4 yo

routine is good for since baby time… now we still stick to routine, which helps in many way and set expectations on what they are being expected at certain time.

For me, weekday evening we will spend 20-30 mins to do home practise, now, we added reading for chinese & english. this is good, as i find that she is willing to sit down to carry out the activities as she knows it’s time to do this…

weekend, she can watch tv. and also we will go for outdoor.cycling, swimming, almost every weekends, we will do the same , occasionally changes when we go places.

my friend who does not setup such routine, her DS cant sit down to do even 5 mins of worksheet(given by nursery) so she always ended up cannpt hand up the homework.
