I went to Learning Point for P6 PSLE Math preparations. Was good.

I originally got 61 marks in school for CA1 P6 math.

      I started at that time.
      For SA1 I got 74.
      For CA2 I got 88.

I got an A for PSLE. This learning centre is not bad 😄 Parents might wanna let ur child have a go at this tuition centre

        hi...

Just wanted to say that my kid got rejected at Learning Point recently as he failed the \"assessment test\". The center mentioned that he has spelling mistakes and some of the tenses he used was incorrect in his compo. He is only in k2 (going on Pri 1 come Jan), my goodness!

I replied that if my son has prefect spelling and grammar in the test, he won't need any \"Enrichment centres\". Who exactly are these \"Enrichment centres\" trying to enrich? Themselves?

Try the test a second time, you have to pay a fee for the second try though.

I also failed my first entry test. Second one I passed.

Sound crazy that we have to pay for 2nd trial test onward n what if gets rejected!

Learning Point is really one kind, entrance test, take in good student, claim student have good result, what value add they have when it comes to tuition.

The real tuition should be take in fail students and make them pass. Take in average students and turn them into A, A* or A1 students.

No la. LP also takes in average students what. My math got 61 for CA1, and when I took the entry test, I failed once, then after that I passed. Not like I’m a very "pro" student, 61 can be considered slightly bad already, still they accepted me.

                  .
Hah - my elder boy(the more exam-smart one) took the english test and failed, but my younger boy passed but hated the class. It was very draining for him bc the whole time they just made them do compositions or comprehensions. He always looked exhausted after each class, so I took him out at the end of the year. I think that was p4. I think the teachers in school did just as well and with much more fun.

                    Monster Mummy:

Wow, i think they are quite strict.

Because they have mentioned that they are enrichment centre and not tuition centre. Maybe I let my kid try the entry test.

Ya.... in their website they boost abt their achievement for PSLE is 97% of A* - A, of course lah.... they reject weak student who needs more help. Their system can only help good student but not the weak student.

Others ctr will help to bring the weak student up to par but not Learning point. THey closed their door.

I was quite dismoralised, 'cos my younger child managed to clear the paper but not my elder child cant make it. what impact had they caused to my child, who scored 84 for English in her SA2?

seem you are going to let your child try, let me give you some tips abt the pre entry test. It consist of gammar, cloze passage (without helping words), comphre and compo. Make sure you prepare you child or else you have to try 6 mths later.

Seriously, after tuitioning at LP, in 9 months my Math improved a good 27 marks in total.

I got 61, yet they accepted me. Perhaps ur child didn't want one more tuition and purposely failed the pre-entry test?

May i know how much did you pay for the 2nd test?

You are lucky! My girl scored 84 in her SA2, LP still reject her… so if they take her, she could be an A* student. Too bad, LP had rejected her application.
