            Hi,

Just to share my talk with the learning point. Once i happen to pass by the centre and made an enquiry. Understand the centre only enrol the student who pass their diagnostic assessment as to them they are consider as a enrichment centre and not tuition centre.

I have not call and make an appointment for the diagnostic course for my child. I am still considering.

are there courses for primary sch kids just on compre alone?

cant find this combination for eng compre, compo and oral.
its usually compo alone or all in 1.

anyone tried compre wkshop during sch holidays from Learning Point at thomson?

In SA2 my girl who scored 84 for her English. She failed the pre entry test in Learning Point they rejected her and was asked to come back in six mths time.

Wow, i think they are quite strict.

Because they have mentioned that they are enrichment centre and not tuition centre. Maybe I let my kid try the entry test.

Ya.... in their website they boost abt their achievement for PSLE is 97% of A* - A, of course lah.... they reject weak student who needs more help. Their system can only help good student but not the weak student.

Others ctr will help to bring the weak student up to par but not Learning point. THey closed their door.

I was quite dismoralised, 'cos my younger child managed to clear the paper but not my elder child cant make it. what impact had they caused to my child, who scored 84 for English in her SA2?

seem you are going to let your child try, let me give you some tips abt the pre entry test. It consist of gammar, cloze passage (without helping words), comphre and compo. Make sure you prepare you child or else you have to try 6 mths later.

It is quite sad to see educ ctrs only provide for the best result students or students from popular school. So stressful as a parent here. My friend’s daughter from Raffles Girl, attends both LL and LP as well as tutor for english and science, LL and 2 tutors for math. These are in addition to ballet, swimming… I cannot believe it…She is spending thousands on her daughter every month. Now her daughter is promoted to the best class in RGS. She is registering her for math olympiad next yr. This is super kiasu… How many parents in spore are doing that?
