Picture discussion is quite standard ( there are a few scenarios) but I think conversation is hard to narrow down.PSLE ORAL
I am thinking of narrowing down some topics for conversation and picture conversation to practise during June holidays. Does anyone here know of past years' topics (Eng Or Chinese) or is there a thread with topics listed? Thanks -

My son having EL oral 2moro...he is revising on his own...bcos my younger one has CL oral 2moro. Since it is her first time sitting for it, I have to prepare her. But having tension headache now.DS just finished both his oral today. According to him, the conversation part may not be necessarily related to the picture given (at least for his chinese). The picture discussion given was a library but the conversation is about what he does during his free time. However, for English oral, picture and conversation were both related. The picture was on CCA and he was asked about his CCA during conversation.

fifiyeo... ehhhhh... doing full papers is not waste of time leh... I always delete work that I have set if I realize that the school has given him practice full papers to do.
Aiyo... so good boy! :love:fifiyeo:
He didn't manage to finish one bit and I sent him to bed at 10.30pm. A record breaking time since 9.30 is the usual bed time. The really nice thing he said before going to bed was asking me to wake him up at 5.30am in the morning so he could try to get it done. It's nice to see him grow up this bit.
Doing full papers are not a waste of time. But doing questions that DS already know and hence having less time left to target the problem areas is the issue. When time is limited, it may not be a good idea. Once in awhile doing full papers to practise speed and timing is good.
Anyway, if it's between doing homework or getting sufficient sleep. I'll go for sleep. It's really important especially for growing children.
DS's teacher told me that several parents had written in yesterday and an extension of dateline was given. She too agreed that it's better DS gets the sleep than the homework done. Falling sick is worse. Her words \"Need not worry. Don't have to wake him up early to get it done.\" I had told her that DS wanted to wake up early to finish up his work but we didn't support that idea. -

This week is preparation for EL/CL oral...time is needed to prepare and revise, rest is crucial too. Son told me the Health Ed teacher wants them to do a group project...in my mind, I am thinking how ridiculous it is. :slapshead: Think my son could read my expression, bcos he said the teacher was :siao: .
The whole class protested and teacher decided to get them to do it during curriculum time. That's more like it. -

My child is currently in a small tution group of 2 to 4 students taught by a ex-teacher. We also tried the tution centre. We also know the strategy of annotation etc. However, the marks still can't improve. Anyone has any advice? Can someone recommend a 1-to-1 home tutor?
Time is running out....

My dc's arts teacher wanted the class to do a paper plate/bowl at home using old newspaper including colouring and decoration during the week just before SA1. It was so time consuming. This week is preparation for EL/CL oral...time is needed to prepare and revise, rest is crucial too. The HOD in charge of non-core subjects has no brains :stompfeet: this is crucial time !!! Next week, Compo exam right after labour day public holiday...then Eng paper 2 on 4/5. Such time-consuming and non-core subjects can be done after the SA1 right ? While teachers are marking exam scripts, they can get students to do such work.

I thought schools should have better time management.
