My dd is having CL on first day and EL on 2nd day; both on the 1st session.

FT has instructed all to arrive by 715am and to wear full school uniform. Be as neat and tidy as possible and bring a smile too. 😉

Forgot to ask what time can they be dismissed. Anyone has any idea on this ? :?
1st batch dismissal time is 10.45am. Have to stay in the holding area to wait for the rest of them to finish (1st batch)

My son's CL on first day. Need to know if there is any entry proof. He told me he will be 2nd one. If he can come back after that...provided he is 1st session, he can leave around 1030. Super stressed today. :nailbite: 😓

        All the best everyone !!!
Happy National Day! Enjoy & forget about PSLE for a day or two will not do you any harm. Relax & don't have to feel so stress, or your kid might feel nervous.

Two days means a lot now you know. Of course children will be happy. But the parents seeing their children so free esp when PSLE is too close might be fuming 😄

May I know the criteria for the score of Higher Mother Tongue to be used with the T-score.

            I know that Distinction = 3; Merit = 2; Pass = 1.

However, is there any requirement that this score can be added to the T-score. According to my child, it has to be the top XX% of national level, which is around T-score of 24X. Is that true? Or where can I find the info?

            TIA!
the HCL points can be used so long as your are applying to SAP secondary school, never heard of min T-score in order to use the HCL points

but of course the entry point of SAP schools are usually not so low. that could be the reason giving rise to misconception on min t-score

In the PSLE Sec Sch Posting booklet, it was mentioned that:
Bonus Points for Admission to Special Assistance Plan (SAP) Schools -
Pupils in the top 30% of the PSLE cohort who take Higher Chinese at the PSLE will be given bonus points for admission to SAP schools according to the following table......(table shows the points)

We went to meet a friend & her kids who came back for holiday…even though I was at City Sq physically, my mind wasn’t. It’s frustrating.

I am getting my son to finish all his school hw today and 2moro so that he is free to revise for oral next week.

Hi all, PSLE Chinese Oral is round the corner. Just to check, does ur DC memorise some of the impressive phrases so as to score higher point? I recently met a teacher friend and he shared some tips with me that some DC memorise these phrases by heart. But when it comes to the actual oral day, some got too panick and forget these phrases And they cried in front of the examiner. What’s your take ? Do your DC have the same strategy or U want them to talk it naturally ?

It is good to know some standard phrases so that they can use at the appropriate places (appropriate place is critical). In that way, they can save some time. But they should be well trained to skip and continue if they forget. They should not spend time to remember the exact sentence. This happened with my DD once NOT in the ORAl but in a competition. Hope this helps.

Memorize some phrases to score, but no need to be exact bcos child will be stressed out facing the unfamilar examiners. Atmosphere is tense. As long as something is memorized, then play by ear when facing the pic. Something already in the head beats having to think up something new on the spot.
