in PSLE maths paper, to draw models pencils can be used or not pls help, my DS is in PSLE this year his handwriting is very bad so I always advice him to use pencils in drawing

Can, but my ds refuse to use pencil, give excuses like forget to change. His model is drawn free hand without ruler somemore! My P5 dd on the other uses pencil & ruler to measure until the exact cm so that each part looks the same. Wasted so much time! :slapshead:

Gender difference :scratchhead: ? I have the same problem with my DS too. The ruler is right in front of him and he can still be too lazy to reach out and use free hand to draw :slapshead:

Good to use pencil, easy to erase if draw wrongly. Marks will not be given for model drawing. However, it can help the child to better understand more challenging questions.

If there is no marks for the model, I wonder why my DD's teacher wants her to draw the model neatly with ruler. She likes free hand but bit messy.

DS has the same problem - sometimes I cant make out his 6 and 0! He would even cross out or write over his mistakes (and he is using pencil) - that makes it so hard to read. Dont understand why it is so hard to reach for an eraser.

I always ask my DS to read what he has written after 2 -3 hrs time, then he himself cannot understand his writing, so for the past few days I am trying this out, and for prelims math paper , oooooh… so worst, I asked him to do the same problem in the remaining space with much patience, and that was much much better, must give him practice for the remaining days

All parents, do remember to pack your child's entry proof in her/his bag for tmr oral. I already set alarm to remind me to keep it in DS's wallet. 😉

My P6 ds writing is very small & he scribble until I have to read the whole sentence in order to suggest the words. Whereas my P1 dd writing is so much until not enough space for her to complete her sentence. Gender difference? I don't think so.
