I'm planning to make a trip to Popular to check out some English titles.
Ha janet_lee88, u know, I was super KS. I've bought the Sec 1 English Grammar book!!!! I like this book as it provide lots of explanation & learning points. I thought it's good for DS to take this opportunities to lay his foundation firmer. But he has yet to start reading. Only plan to get him started next week, but do it slow.janet_lee88:
Went to SAP (publisher) website to check out some reference titles. Wow, the English grammar/vocab at sec 1 is no joke :nailbite:
Once sec 1 exams are over, I will borrow some titles for son to read them. Language is very impt especially in secondary...cannot be so lax.
My neighbour's son is in Sec 1...an avid reader but still not strong enough to manage Sec 1 English syllabus :faint: My son is nowhere near him where reading is concerned. I've kept to my promise of continuous fun after PSLE...now he has to buck up and start reading ST. -
May I know what time we need to be at the school on the result release day (tentatively Nov 22). Will it be early morning or noon time?

Janet, you really let your DS stay at home since 3 Oct? That's cool!Mummies,
My son has been staying at home since 3rd Oct...I make him read newspapers, cut out articles and write diary every night.
No point going to school when teachers will leave them to own devices.
Might as well accompany me at home...bonding
So far, he has helped me to clear up the books/shelves, tidy his room and vacuum.
Told my DS about it and he said that's what he wanted to do right from the start. Okay.... Monkey see monkey do.....hehe. We shall see how it goes after PSLE marking week whether to stay away from school or not.

My son revised at home after prelims...attended school for briefing the day before LC...unwell after that day for close to 2 weeks. Had to skip the briefing before the BIG day (Sep 27) bcos he was on MC...HOD said he'd better rest at home. I took down all the necessary notes from her.

Really eventful year.
Made him help me clear up the 'tornado' in his room...messy for 9 months. -
