2012 PSLE Discussions and Strategy

Thank you for starting this thread. My dd will be taking PSLE next year. To quote from a book I am reading now, PSLE is "Procrastine sure liao exam". So far, dd is doing well in school but I hope to start PSLE preparation early so that it would be a breeze next year. However, she is so busy with school activities and homework that we could hardly do any revision. Hope to start some routine on revision soon.

that was like my DS ..... he had so many competitions all the way to August of Pri 6
consistent performance from P4 - P6 will ensure things are on finger tip, plus lots of self motivation -

Oh yes, I read that book too. My boy find the book amusing
maybe he finds some similarity between him and the boy.
Same here, my DS1 is so busy with his school work that we also find it difficult to do revision. We have came to an agreement to start PSLE preparation this year end holidays. -
2012 is dragon year. Competition is stiff.

2012 is dragon year. Competition is stiff.

This stiff competition started at p1 registration, p3 Gep screening and now p6 psle and this continues to o levels, a levels, uni entrance and first class honors, jobs, promotion and bonus! Lol -

sigh, yet to find an effective way to motivate him.8228:
Thank you for this new thread. My ds will take his PSLE next year. His weaker subjects are English and Chinese. The biggest challenge for me is his bochap attitude. I am worried but he does not seem to care.
so your priority task is how to motivate him and sustain it -

Thank you for starting this thread ! My DS1 will be P6 next year and am now very worried. I have been telling him to work hard now if he wants to get into his \"dream school\".
When I asked my ds which school he wanted to go to, he just kept quiet.
It would be easier if he has a target.

I bought the one by Creative for my ds last year. This is the only one he has, so don't know which is better. -
Hi all, I am new to this forum. My DS is P5 in DLS. So many CCA, camps and endless homework. Sometimes he stays up late just to finish his many homework…
One suggestion which works for us (erm…to my DS) is to retype all the questions which your child made mistakes in the CA, SA exams and let him/her redo them every day. We have seen vast improvement since started in SA1 last year when he was P4. Sometimes, past year school papers from elite schools may not help as much as to understand why your child is not understanding a particular concept. You can pick that up when you see him/her making same mistake.
Elite schools papers can be done after you see improvement or in parallel (if your child has the time). Also, do the same for all papers: not just Maths, English (synthesis transformation), Chinese compre (HCL) and Science papers.
Try it!
