Too little details to make a fair judgement. Are you looking for $6k/mth grade employees but only willing to pay $4k/mth that's why all those who is willing to accept $4k/mth got rejected?
many this kind of examples lah -

If they're willing to offer a 20% premium, I'll take up the job anytime.. Even thou I stay in the East.
Nope.. The word \"Jurong\" scares them as if it is on the other side of the world. They over-think about the distance and prefer to work nearer to their home. I received a look of surprise from my FT employer when I dismissed that distance isn't an issue ( I was staying at Punggol before) as that seem to be the main grouse they receive from locals. -

They offered 35%

Musings:
Foreigners don't complain and ask for transport subsidy - and these guys dont stay in dorms. They travel long distance if necessary like anybody else.
And results in overcrowded trains/buses.... ok.. OT..
Even if you supply enuff foreign workers, if companies want to move, they will move. A good example is Seagate. So, supply foreign workers is Not a key factor. It can lower their costs but will not be a main reason for the companies to move. -

like you mentioned, it is too little details and at the same time, no one has the exact statistics on what are the actual happenings in the Corporate World except grievances \"statistics\".

For PMETs role, they do require a fair amount of travelling nowadays which does not sit well with locals, family life , kids etc.
To add, companies have been here for some time too, do you reckon that maybe they are also \"tired\" of going through recruitments where Locals are always stating a reason or excuse of not wanting the role hence the MNCs prefer to recruit FT instead for PMET? -
limlim:
Speechless indeed so you can imagine my utter shock what I was told when I joined and how they had trouble recruiting. These 3 -> Jurong, Fair Amount of Travelling and no OT though calls will happen past working hours and you can see Locals :siam:

Then again, one man's loss was my gain -

Personally, I can accept working in offshore, or travel frequently.. as long as the pay is good. However, I have not come across such good employment opportunities.. In a few cases, I even explicitly state in the resume that I'm willing to travel at short notice, can do shift work etc.. but still did not get much offers.
I cannot relate to your examples of well paying jobs but no local takers.
It's meaningless to go on further.. -

like I said earlier, this is not a managerial post, non-grad requirement
