      Hi,

      Doreen has ome $5 and %10 notes. The notes add up to $470 in total. There are four more $5 notes than $10 notes. How many $5 notes does Doreen have?

      solution:
      5x4 = 20
      470-20 =450
      450/15 = 30
      30+4 = 34

      Pls advise, why 30 + 4 is equal to nos of $5 notes?

      Thanks.

      When you remove the 4 extra $5 notes, there will be equal number of $5 and $10 left with total amount = $470-$20 = $450

      one group of (1x$5 note+ 1X$10 note) = $15
      $450 / $15 = 30 groups
      there is 1x$5 note in one group and 4x$5 was removed first,
      so total number of $5 notes = 30 x 1 + 4 = 34

      cheers.

      :thankyou:

              3 tubes = 3X3 = 9 balls
              1 racket = 281.70 + 1 balls
              Therefore, $299.70 = $281.70 + 10balls
              => 1ball = $1.8
              => 1 racket = $283.5

                    hi offering my help..

                    always remember the hard rule, use bigger area minus smaller area to find shaded area.

                    80 x 57.8 = 4624m2 (smaller area, field)
                    80 + 1.1 + 1.1 = 82.2m (length of bigger area, field and path)
                    57.8 + 1.1 + 1.1 = 60m (breadth of bigger area, field and path)
                    82.2 x 60 = 4932m2 (bigger area)
                    4932 - 4624 = 308m2 (area of path)

                    Ans = 308m2

                      Hi, pls help me to solve this question.

                      Tank A and Tank B each contain some fish. If John transferred 12 fish from Tank A to Tank B, both tanks will have the same number of fish. If he transferred 4 fish from Tank B to Tank A instead, Tank A will have 5 times as many fish as Tank B. How many fish are there in each tank?

                      TIA

                        4U = 28

                        U = 7.

                        Initial no of fishes in A is 11 and B is 35.
