When her tooth was wobbly she complained that it was abit uncomfortable to eat so we extracted it. Both teeth dod not drop out on their own. Am just wondering is it normal for the permanent set to take so long to appear. Should I wait for a couple more months or go to the dentist to get it checked. Her bottom ones have dropped and grown new set already.

Same as my girl. Her two front teeth took many months (tink also more than 6 months - its so long that I lost count) to grow. One dropped of by itself and d other pulled it out as she feel uncomfortable when eating. So your dau shd b alright 😄

finally I figure out how to use quotes 🕺

there is also a way to manage tooth decay via nutrition as per Weston Price.... also we all have to be aware of the Lifetime of teeth, like when child will lose milk teeth to be replaced by permanent ones.. root canal treatment for very young children (and even for adults) is totally *BS.. no teeth is worth saving via root canal treatment... think of it this way.. the insides of your teeth are the life of your teeth.. if you scrape it out.. your teeth is ultimately dead (no more blood and nerves to supply nutrients to the crown of teeth).. what is the use of a dead tooth? it will just cause more infection to your jaw bone.. and spread to other teeth... the best way is address tooth decay by extraction (specially for young children) and then ensure that they receive high quality nutrition to reverse tooth decay and help in promoting healthy permanent teeth.

          Hey fifiyeo,

I am not strong academically...but hubby hates wordy stuff. So for English and Chinese, I have no choice but follow closely.
After Thursday ie gal's last exam, I have to attend to son's dental treatment. He has to start braces.

We are done with our 12 year olds only by Christmas...getting uniforms and new books.
Janet_lee88, your DS can start braces at his age? My DS also needs braces due to overcrowding. But dentist said too young, said wait for a while.

          ooppsss :offtopic: sorry.

Sorry :offtopic: too  but yes, can wear braces once all of your DC's adult teeth have erupted.

In fact, that was my No.1 thing to do for DD post PSLE. She got 4 teeth extracted a few days after final paper, followed by the fixing of braces. In fact, her front teeth have started to straighten out 😄

My ds has very crooked front teeth since P3 and we raised our concern to the sch dental. The dentist referred us to health board and ds crooked front teeth were straighten by wearing braces behind them. within 6 months they were corrected with very minimum pain and discomfort. Amazing and he did it after his P4 SA2.

But meanwhile, he started on a simple type to straighten out some existing teeth first.

So far the two orthodontist I approached declined to start DD on braces. They recommend only from the age of 15; something to do with her jaw needing to be fully developed to adult size.

Age 15?? Wow, that seem like a long wait. I started mine when I was 13 which lasted almost 3 years. Extracted 4 tooth to do the braces.
But along the way, I had a badly slanted wisdom tooth extracted & at 20yo, discovered an extra hidden tooth which threaten to destroy the roots of 3 tooth above. End up was under GA & hospitalised for ~3days to remove that extra + remaining 3 wisdom.

Actually from the point I started my braces at 13, think my jaw size remain quite stable. Despite extracting 9 teeth (4 wisdom + 5 adult), my teeth are all still packed tightly without gap!! My 2 kids also having this problem, overcrowding, both need braces.

I had too many teeth and it led to overlapping too. Extracted 6 teeth and wore braces. Son had cleft…so his condition is different.

Since it’s post PSLE, we can discuss other issues before the BIG day.

Didn’t know there’re also DC that need braces at such young age. When I was told that DS need to do braces… I was like "huh", y him??

Actually, I myself was on braces when I was in P6 too.

Think dentist mentioned something like his adult teeth have not been fully erupted… so have to wait. But I was advise to bring him to see orthodontist after PSLE… Action not done yet… almost forget abt this till I see janet_lee88 mentioned braces.
