Fancy a holiday tour group led by MP?
-
phtthp:
which MP kickstart this ? interesting!
from the article, i would say wp mp. :rahrah: -
phtthp:
if the tour is led by a potential president one day - would you like to join the tour ?
it is a good 'Get to know your MP' or 'Get to know your President' session - during this minimum 1 week long holiday overseas together, whereby can makan, dine and chit chat together.
yes, i dont mind joining the tour but if only all those in the group are truly man on the street and not so and so. -
ya, otherwise can’t eat in peace properly.

hehe, not only cannot eat in peace, probably have to eat the 渣 as all the good food would be placed in front of them first. -
It takes some effort on the MP(s) end to take time to get to know the people during such trips, such as the WP 1day Durian trip to Malaysia.
Kudos to WP for this genuine gesture to get to know the people session.
It is very rare to see the ruling party’s MPs , except during the Meet-People Session once or twice a week ( some MPs not involved as well ), going round even their own constituencies to see the daily lives of the common people. There are a few which do that, but majority - I guess once every 5 years ba.
Can take the time during the trip to discuss daily issues in a more relaxed mood as well. I guess the minority party need to do this to convince the residents of their commitment. The incumbent MPs ? where got time for all these stuff , in 5 yrs time, all the procedures will be planned ahead by the grassroots, etc.
The highly positioned MPs, will give speeches and attend seminars in nice settings. To spend one whole day in Malaysia eating durians under the sun ??
kangkor lo. -
at those talks etc, it is impossible to have a word with the govt mps cos they are usually talking to the so and so, the people who invited them and then out they go, surrounded by their own guards.
sometimes wonder why need so many unofficial guards around the govt mps. -

Hi LOLMum,
i dont mind joining the tour but if only all those in the group are truly man on the street and not so and so.
I like the way the WP MPs are so down to earth, and attempt to connect with the COMMON people.
Isn't looking after and getting to know the people in their own constituency part of the MP's duties ? Sadly, many have taken the MP role for granted.

a bit too long, this video, but around the middle, you can see the genuine interest for the common folks. -
thanks for the video, strparent.
