Hi

My daughter is in MS for P6 Maths. She missed few sessions as she was unwell last month but we never followed up for solutions. Any idea how to get it? They don’t provide solutions and it has to be handed over to the teacher for corrections. Its a long process… any suggestions…

Is it true that mindstretcher allocates the more experienced teachers to all the graduating classes? I enquired there yesterday and the staff told me they give very solid P6 teachers who are committed, at least 3-5years experience in MS and will not change halfway. Anyone has experiences joining at P6 level? And how are their HA level materials? Challenging? Is the pace fast? How about Chinese? I have not decided which subject to let my child join, just thought maybe he can join (either EL/SCI/CHI) for a boost in his final year next year. Currently he joins Chinese compo class but is very average. Not sure if I should change as he has been there since P3.

Anyone know what is the different between HA class and Achiever class for Science and English? Are they using the same material? Thanks.

Hi. My daughter is in HA class and her friend is in Achiever English. There is no much difference in the material given and sometime the worksheets are exactly the same! Guess the difference is in the different learning pace.
Just to share my daughter's experience in her P5 HA Creative writing and English classes at Bishan. Over this year, she has improved greatly in her English and composition results at this end of year exam. To be frank, the credit should go to her MS English teacher who is ever so patient and encouraging. However, we are sad to find out that she will not longer be teaching in the centre next year. We do not know the reason but possibly there is something behind the scene...anyway, we wish the teacher well and hope the centre/management can find teachers who are good because last time my daughter had a few MS teachers who are just mediocre and only when she met her MS teacher this year then she improved and wanted to stay on.
So now, with her leaving, wondering should my daughter go and try other tuition centres...
NB. Pls don't be fooled by any advertisement or being persuaded that a teacher must be good if he or she is an ex-VP/P or from a 'posh' school because real good teachers are those who are unassuming and patient and don't go around bragging!

I found a good experienced writing teacher at Balmoral MS who used to teach my dd on Wednesdays 3.30 pm, but now they cannot continue with the class unless there are at least 2 students in the class (Yup, she was the ONLY student for many months! And she did well for her SA2 compo this year)

PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP if you would like to join this class on Wednesdays! ANYBODY ELSE WHO IS INTERESTED, PLEASE PM ME AS WELL! :lol:
