      Lurline

I think it could be that the time slot or centre is popular.
So far, we managed to do one make up lesson for a school activity after showing the letter.

I thought the HQ is bishan? Katong is popular, heard that also popular with competitors.. :rotflmao: hehehe so must be good. I think it depends on individual teachers since the materials are standard.

I always hv the impression that they don't allow make up classes because they always tell me and my friends that no make up unless there is a letter from school to prove that the child has school activities. However, they will tell us cannot do make up classes as all the classes are full so sorry, after we show the letter from school.

            Hi lurline
I think they should not take in the max 15 students per class.
They should take in maybe max 13 students and keep 2 empty slot
for students who need to do make up. Have make up with \"MC\" but no slot
is the same as no make up. That's why my friend told me even sick child also attended lesson cos there is no slot for makeup. Some parents cant effort to lose their lesson cos they paid $$$.

i think it does not make $ sense for them to keep 2 empty slot just for make up.
however, they could max 15 students, and make 2 additional slots for make up. i am assuming they could not be getting requests for make up classes, all the time, right?
another suggestion they could have taken up (if they are pro-students), would be what one of the neighbourhood tuition centre did for their make up class - they allowed students to attend make-up classes in the form of classes for other subjects if their registered subject classes are full. that is better than a total NO in the case of no vacancies for the registered class.

So far, I did not have any issues with make-up class in Clementi branch. It is just we skip classes sometimes. I think it depends on our luck. I always ask for replacement one week before or at least 5 days before our actual session.

Hi All, I just came across this post.

I’ve enrolled DS to Numberlinks in Jan’13. He was assessed with weak foundations. he attends class every week without fail. I had to withdraw him as they find him not up to their standards. The uncaring teacher and arrogant principal who brings you down as a parent. They made us very unhappy parents as well.

I am looking to get enopi worksheets so that I can guide him at home. Anyone has contact to buy them?

I al also looking for enrichment class for P4 in hougang / bishan / AMK. Any recommendation?

Hi All, I just came across this post.

I've enrolled DS to Numberlinks in Jan'13. He was assessed with weak foundations. he attends class every week without fail. I had to withdraw him as they find him not up to their standards. The uncaring teacher and arrogant principal who brings you down as a parent. They made us very unhappy parents as well.

My DS has similar experience when he went for pre-assessment at The Learning Point when he was at P2 (4 years ago). The teacher whom marked his compo test commented that his grammar is not strong, content is not up to standard and has limited vocabularly ( oh really?? aren't they suppose to enrich? :scratchhead: ) The centre declined to take my son as student and asked me to bring him back when he has improved  . My DS cried. He had thought that enrichment is to help him to improve on his weak areas but the centre rejected him. They were only looking at 'good already' student to begin with. Oh come on...at 8 years old???If he is at 80 % good, why do I need to send him anyway?

We are determined not to support such business culture. DS never attend any English tuition since that experience. He just read a lot of books and magazines. Today, he is consistently one of the top scorers for Eng compo and paper 2.

No enrichment centre or educators should be allowed to tell us that our young children are not good enough for their centre :nunchuk:
This is purely our unpleasant experience and I hope it does not offend anyone.

Yes, fully agreed. And I hope DS will put this unhappy experience behind with such uncaring and rude principal at Numberlinks.

I’ve just checked on PSlemath and MS P4 Achiever class. Their worksheets are not as colorful as Pslemath. In considering distance, I sign up DS with MS.
