Mindstretcher - Discussion

ScaredyMum:
Maths - yes, my DD did not improve. same problem, copy teh answer from the board or projector.I have withdrawn both DS from MS gradually since last year. Perhaps it depends on individual but both DS did not benefit much attending their lessons (Bishan).
Some of the teachers do the worksheets in class and do not assign additional hw. When they go thru the answers, they asked the students to copy the correct answers from the board but not much explanation. That's the feedback from my then P3 & P5 DSs.
I like their worksheets questions though. Hwr, as my DS did not improve from their lessons, I withdrew them and put them in private tuition instead.
I have a friend whose DD used to attend MS (woodlands) and her results maintained in the 70s (scored high 23+ in PSLE). Her DD enjoyed their lessons that's was why I enrolled DS in MS but quite disappointed overall.
Science-I find it very good. I totally washed my hands now. -

Hi, I read some good reviews about True Learning Centre in this forum. Could you share your children's learning experience in this tuition centre? My children will be taking the PSLE and O level this year, and I am thinking of enrolling them in this centre soon.sembgal:
MindStretcher students go to Just Education for tuition. How I know? U go check with Just Education staff. If one child from MindStretcher cross over to JustEducation, soon all the rest will follow. Eventually, one by one leave and that is when waitlist students get in. Sometimes, it has to do with the attitude of the staff at MS too.
It seems that many parents are withdrawing their children from MindStretcher. My children in True Learning Centre told me that some of their classmates were formerly from MindStretcher (yoha@Jurong). Both centres are located under the same roof. -
I don’t like the no make up class policy in MS. Their counter staff are not very nice and helpful. Ds used to attend eng, creative writing, Maths and science class but not anymore.

Perhaps when an organization grows too big, quality control becomes a significant issue.
Or maybe some heads swelled too large for their own good at MS. I am talking about the management.
Peace. -

My friend just enrolled her son in Bishan branch and she heard that alot of students are withdrawing from AMK and Bishan branch. She is wondering why? :?
Hi kitty2
I did not send my dc to ms but my friend did. She withdrew her ds from ms amk branch last yr. Reason was no improvement. Her ds joined the year before. The english ws was not difficult too as my friend'ds was the best in his class when he was in ms. My friend's ds is in a neighborhood school and in the 2nd class. Imagine yr dc is in one of the top schools and in the top class, do you think it is going to help if the ws is easy? Another reason is the counter staff was rude. FYI. -
Steadyberry,
Was your friend son in their HA english class?

Hi jedamum
I am not sure, she only mentioned English. But my friend’s ds is still in ms Woodlands branch doing both olympiad and non-Olympiad maths. -
I withdrew my Son(P3) and Girl(P5) from Mindstretcher in Clementi. I really doubt their ability to manage their teachers. No results. If you are enrolling your kids there.....make sure you check with their work and ask their feedback. Good luck :xedfingers:

No make up policy? I thought have? Terms and conditions state with valid reasons, makeup can be arranged if other class has vacancy. -
