Yes, eventually. I did switch him to high achiever math. It is much more difficult, and there is not much concept taught, the IQ qns are difficult , my son is coping with it.

My son was in MS Jurong (Yoha) for English, Maths and Science. I think the teachers are very irresponsible in their markings. Some of the answers were wrongly answered by my son was marked correct. I feedback to the centre but not sure did they take any action on the teachers. I had already withdrawn my son from MS Jurong. My sister-in-law’s P2 son also there for English, also feedback the teacher not good.
And the admin also blur. When I withdraw, they should have offset the last mth fee with my deposit but they did not and when I ask for the deposit to be refunded to me, they said can only refund 2 weeks after my son’s last lesson. It’s surely their mistake and when I ask for it to be refunded immediate as I am not happy they hold on to my deposit which they should not have to. After complaining to the manager, they can only refund on the last day of the lesson! Inflexible in management! -
It could be teacher-dependent.
My kids are there @ Jurong branch. DS is satisfied but DD has been complaining big time this year. Has been asking to quit even. Unlike last year, she was very happy. I am contemplating gathering feedback from her classmates on the teacher to see if it’s a genuine case or just simply teacher-student chemistry. If teacher related, think better dun waste $ & continue. DD was high 90s last year, this year CA1, mid 70s. The drop is simply too much to ignore. -

That's a good news. He is a smart boy! :rahrah: -

In general, I do not have good experience with their admin as well as their teachers. For English, I was surprised that they used certain assessment books as teaching materials, which we were already practising on. They should should try to design their own materials, like learning lab or other tuition centers.

My girl attended P3 high achiever el at 112 Katong, was transferred to bishan as her Sch's suppl classes clash with Mindstretcher lesson. This is how I sum mindstretcher up:
1.) fees is low, $120 per mth.
2) accuracy of resources ( almost every set of ws contain \"typo error(s)\" which are pretty major... Ranging from grammar, punctuation, spelling, missing words. Luckily my dd spotted them and double check with me)
3) Dd's interest in that subject improved as Bishan's tr has better chemistry with her. Katong had a relief tr within the one mth my DD was with them.
4) Director's respond to feedback is very slow. Emailed me and asked me to meet him to let him know what the mistakes are since abt 2 mths ago but no confirmation till now despite 2 gentle reminder emails. ( it's not like I own the school right?)
5. HW given is slightly less taxing than LL's
6. Blanks in Cloze passages given, were not well thought of; lack of opportunity for use of various strategies like contextual or read forward n backward clues, etc. ( feels like the blanks just appeared for the sake of having blanks)
7. DD attended LL but didn't enjoy it as too much HW. However, I don't have any complaints abt the quality of their ws and resources. Just that their price is steep n HW was overwhelming.
Conclusion: will prob observe MS for ano 2 mths. In meantime will look out for other El enrichment ctrs or put her on waiting list for LL again ( hopefully she can cope with the workload) -
Mindstretcher having their Parent Seminar (about PSLE / DSA) for parents of existing students.
Have any of you attended it before? Any feedback? Worth the effort to pay and attend?
Thanks.
