Hi - I am new here and found this forum through someoneโs recommendation.
My daughter is 6 this year and going for Pri 1 . We live within 1 km of Yew Tee Primary so always tot will apply that. BUt now realised that even for last year for phase 2C (which we are in) also got to ballot for less than 1km. 138% more applications.
Someone told us if we don get it - govt might post us to a school we are not so keen on.
Another alternative is my step daughter is in Fairfield Methodist Primary and if we want to we can register under Phase 1 which of course gets us in automatically cos sibling (half sisters also counted right?) but Fairfield is so far from us. And many experienced parents advised better to get a school nearby though Fairfield is a good school.
What would you do? Try Phase 1 under Methodist but so far from CCK? Or take a gamble for Yew Tee primary? Appreciate all the advice I can get. Hubby feels we should not take risk and just go for Phase 1 under Methodist, better long distance than in another primary school allocated and possibly not conducive for her? -

We cannot sell our house as its less than 5 years and moving is not an option for us for other personal reasons as well.
Can you actually "monitor?" the registration of applicants as some schools may not entertain your calls and not sure if Yew Tee Primary is good enough to tell you whats the status etc.
