-
Hi Princessze,
The http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com is only e-flash cards.
I have also join this website.
Before I join, I used to buy shichida tensei materials. It's very ex!!
So I decided to DIY my own self. It's just too much time wasted.
I am a working mom. So I find that rightbraineducation.com solve my problems.
They have more than 10,000 flash cards. And they are very cheap!!
You should consider joining them. So far I feel they are the best. -
Hi All,
After I sent my sons to Heguru, I started to search for eflash card due to limited source physical flash card, i found http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com and i felt so happy that it consists of >10,000 flash cards. Unfortunately, http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com is not available in Malaysia since June 2012, so, I have to either buy the physical flash cards or DIY the flash card. Ends up i decided to DIY the flash card due to limited source of buying the ready made flash card. I agreed that it is really really time consuming to make flash card, luckily i have my maid to do for me after i print them out.
I tried the flash card using computer, but i found that my sons didn't really interested on using computer, they prefer I flash them with physical card. I noticed that if i flash them with physical card, they hear my voice when i read it out, they see my reaction and there is interaction between my sons and me. But, it use physical flash card, the pronunciation must be very accurate and clear. I think it is depends which method your kids work the best. -

Hi EmLi,
I send my kid to Shichida, and i also have friends that send their kids to Heguru.
All of us find it beneficial,
BUT,
the only issue is getting flash cards for Shichida/Heguru to practise with my child.
I have heard from my friends that http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com is now available (Malaysia).
By the way have you check out their new video quite cool!

Hi Viviandress & Nancy,
Thanks for your info. I just get a called from http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com person in charge in Malaysia, it is available in Malaysia now, i am planning to subscribe it. BTW, i would like to ask whether this e-flash card cover a wide range of topic like science, geography, country (flag, building & etc.), culture & etc? After you subscribe this e-flash card, do you get flash card with other topic to increase kids vocabulary?
My sons do not really interested in Linking Memory? How can i make them more interested on it? Is it a must to practice Linking Memory at home?
Thanks. -

Hi EmLi,
My kid prefers picture flash cards more than Linking Memory.
I would say go with your child's interest.
But you should still do linking memory, maybe lesser.

jst to share my feeling on SHICHIDA… during the 2008 time, the school is really very onz… with seminar and lots of publicity and we feel upbeat with the programs… but now, with my 2nd kid in the program… after 1 year plus… i feel the things taught is 98% similar 3 years back… website is not updated…notice boards always the same old news…and the downsizing in the school is not very pleasing to parents with lots of renovation outside. and teachers do not seem to be that enthusiast like last time… maybe it’s the teacher or maybe they din get more training… things seem stagnant… im looking fwd to the 3-4 yo class programmes which my 1st child benefited a lot…now im in 2yo class… but on the way there… i simply dun feel school is putting more effort in improving anymore… stagnant !

*phew* i was so afraid i missed out alot for my 2nd child but guess my fear is unfounded. Those years when DS1 attended shichida between 2006-2010, we learned alot and created alot of other material similar to Shichida. Gotten loads of advice from the sensei as well. Actually once you learned the techniques, you can easily applied to the subsequent kids. So my DS2 also benefitted alot on the rightbrain activities despite the fact that he didn't attend shichida because we can do it at home and also i have loads of rightbrain material as well. So save alot of $. :please: -
laughingcat,
I would like to give my kids fair chance of attending the class…thus sending my DS too… im wondering any other similar program in the market that works like SM…haizz… -
Yap, after 4 years which ds have attended, I enrolled dd, the sch is still using the same poem, same video and same materials for the teaching, even the songs are the same. Nothing has been changed. So, I decided to do it at home with all the materials and worksheets that I have previously. Both enjoyed doing it together at home. A great bonding between them.

I gave some comments on Flashcards at another link on KSP. Here’s what I wrote, now edited to suit this topic discussion.
I am very pro on flashcards. I do know some parents are not but I AM.
DD2 was 16 months when she attended Shichida and she stopped just before 5 YO.
Over the years, I made more than 2000 flashcards. I spent 4-5 hrs every Friday nite for years to make those cards. We flashed twice daily morning/before bedtime, each time 200-300 cards.
No point spending 80 bucks per lesson/week if you dont make the extra effort with your kids at home to do similiar actitives on daily basis.
Today…she is very focused on whatever she is doing and has mega memory. Because it was easy for her to remember what her teachers had taught her, she knows Hanyu Pinyin and can read around 5yrs old. She also enjoys school very much and teachers have commented on her progress positively.
In short, parents need to understand/appreciates and believe in Shichida’s program.
