I'm not selling the pluses of RVHS. In brief, RV had its unique way and style in teaching and grooming potentials with talents. Utmost importance, as parents of students pursuing their learning in RV, do refrain from exerting unnecessary pressure on your sons and daughter in these times. Let the momentum of the works flow and if feasible, \"work\" with them (your child) towards achieving their needs and goals (i.e. not your goals). Cheers. Have a enriching and fufilling learning route with RV.

Please share more on what you know about RV.
      Thank-you.

        Tango696:
Hi all. I am very new at this forum. My DS was posted to RV, his 2nd choice. He wasn't very pleased since he badly wanted NJC, but was unsuccessful both at DSA and S1 posting. He didn't want to appeal probably because he didn't want to be rejected the 3rd time should the appeal fails. He seems happier now that his uniform and textbooks have been purchased, and gamely selected a pair of white frame glasses to match his uniform 🙂 I hope he'll adjust well to the Chinese environment soon esp since he isn't particularly good in his mother tongue. Hope to acquire much info we need from this forum. Cheers!

Hi tango696, a very warm welcome to your son to RVH. I hope in time to come, he will like the school and be proud of it and vice versa.

Thank you Poet2010 for the reminder. Your child in this school?

Anybody knows if the school sells PE during the holidays?

We bought only a set during registration because the sellers restricted the number of sets purchase.

So are they still selling now?

yes, my kid is currently pursuing Y2 in 2012. And that he is doing quite well although there’s peer pressure.

one of the significance of RV is that students are offered exemption from the final exam if the GPA are well within the standards set by the school.

project work is a good foundation for learning. do facilitate the needs of the child where feasible. students whom are selected to participate in competition may feel pressured to work on both school and project work. as parents, do provide your moral support in this area. grades and performance can be stressful as times based current economical situation, every parents wants or expect their children to perform … jus be supportive

Do students of RV need a laptop? And do there need to subscribe to anything?

it's good to have one for portability and use it at home or for class work discussion after school hour. cheers. not to be overly concern or worry about getting your kid to embark on RV's routine.

As far as I am aware, those 3 thick books are the only books listed in the Y1 booklist and those are the only science books that I bought. Hope this answers your question.

Any parents also bought that 3 thick Science books?
                    Thank-you.

it should be sold be the entrepreneur club at the round kiosk(nearer bookshop) in the canteen.

not sure if they are opened during school holidays. they should be opened on tue, wed, fri afternoons during school term unless opening hours has been changed.
