I saw this notice from the RV’s website. Students can start to go to the new campus from 14th Dec onward. I am not sure if they allow visitors but someone can certainly take some photos of the new campus to help people who need to see the campus to make decision on the choice of schools.

We have finally moved into our new school campus @ Boon Lay!! Students may
enter the school wef Monday, 14 Dec.
Students are reminded to put on proper school attire when you come to the
school. Please also note that there will be some areas (eg Indoor Sports
Hall, Multi-purpose Hall, Basketball Courts) which are still work in
progress. These areas will be out-of bound to all until further notice.

The sudden announcement by the press that former JJC's principal Mr Koh Yong Chiah will take over Ms Ee Soo Ben position as RV's new principal starting 18th Dec is rather strange and sudden.

As many people know, the new appointment of principals is usually done in September every year and this year is no exception. See announcement by MOE below

Why didn't they decide then to post Ms Ee out? Why the sudden change?
It does smell unusual and Mr. Koh conceded that he has no time yet to understand from MOE the reason. Ms Ee is at the moment on sabbatical leaves according to MOE.
I am not sure about rumours....rumours in the chinese forum has it that Ms Ee will join PAP for the next election and this has to do with MM Lee's recent lament that he has made great mistakes in the chinese language education.

Yes, the students were caught in a surprise when they knew about this. Miss Ek is very well liked by the students in RV. My dd joined the farewell party and she told me, its very emotional. Teachers and students cried and even she, who only spent 1 year in RV, felt very sad. Miss Ek is very motherly, kind and has a sense of humor. Now the next mystery is, what kind of character is the new principal.

Well....maybe Mr. Koh is very fatherly
Principal like Mr. Koh is hard to come by nowaday- capable, innovative and yet deeply rooted in the chinese philosophy of education. Very hard to find for a SAP school like RV. He has broad connection within the chinese elite community since he was in the committee of the Tan Kah Kee foundation. People have high expectation from him when he took over leadership of Chinese High in 2000 before the school went IP. I have read an article about him. He is full of passion with education and his talk is intersperse with concepts of confucius ethics...yet judging from how he led Kranji Secondary, he is not conservative in his concept in education.
You know, our media is government monopoly, they have gotten the news last month but choose to only release it yesterday. Another question is that why Ms Ek isn't given a new appointment in MOE? Does anybody see her out in the meet-the-people sessions? -
