I can’t remember the promotion criteria from P5 to P6 GEP but I don’t think they’ve ever retained a GEP student before.

Why don’t you check directly with the teacher and also ask his English teacher what exactly are his weak areas.

For those P3 parents who are preparing for the GEP tests, the dates are out.

actually surprise me that a GEP student can fail his english test, more likely a one-off bad performance. One of the criteria for GEP selection at P3 is the grasp and maturity in the usage of the english langauge apart from strength in other areas like analytical thinking etc.

The GEP English standard is quite demanding. Was told sec 2 standard at P5. If they can score above 70, my ds teacher would say it is good. I am not sure what weightage is the English component during P3 selection test though.

maybe that kid did extremely well for her maths and general ability test..during the screening tests

ya la...it is really 'not fun' to get into GEP with the help of the preparation class...the kids might sufferrrrrrrrrrr..
