Anybody has any idea the Edusave Scholarships, Edusave Merit Bursary or the Good Progress Award for GEPpers are awarded based on individual GEP school percentage computation or the entire GEP cohort?

They are based on individual GEP school.

They are based on individual GEP school.

            Thanks, MandyMummy!

In that case for a school with 2 classes of GEP & 50 students, the top 10% is only 5 students & top 25% is 13 round to nearest whole number. That's really tough!
Any idea what is good progress award?

Any idea what is good progress award?[/quote]Not sure if top 25% of 50 GEP students is 12 or 13 students. I know of a case whereby there are 45 students in 2 GEP classes and top 10% is only 4 students, not 5. 😢

As for good progress award, this is what I found:

                Good Progress Award (GPA)

If your child does not qualify for the Edusave scholarship or merit bursary, but has made significant improvement in his academic performance, he is eligible for the Good Progress Award. The award is given based on the extent of his improvement in his school’s year-end examinations over the previous year.
The awards are given to a maximum of 10% of pupils in each level and stream in every school. Pupils in Primary 1 are excluded from the scheme as there is no basis for comparison. Your child will be selected by his school for this award at the end of the year if he meets the criteria.

The value of the awards are as follows:

                $100 for Primary 2 to 3
                $150 for Primary 4 to 6
                $200 for Secondary
                $250 for Junior Colleges/Centralised Institute (JCs/CI)
$400 for Institute of Technical Education (ITE)

Agree, at least there is something to keep unlike P1 and P2 just a letter.
Initially I still thought due to GE, my zone was realigned and hence changed of MP, thinking under this new zone not bad still got cert unlike the last 2 years I kept nothing. 🙂
