Sec 1 2012

Hi,
Hope everyone enjoyed their CNY celebrations.
Holidays are over...back to our routine again...
:snooze: -
Those at ACSI, especially the express track are still having an easy time. Few parents commented on ACSI thread that their boys are really having a good time now.
They will be having another day of holiday on 30/1 for celebration of the IB results this year.
Supposed to have tests on 31/1 but no confirmation so far and the principal had made known to everyone that no marks from term one tests will be considered at all. -

What are the promotion criteria for ACSI? Must they pass all the subjects? Those at ACSI, especially the express track are still having an easy time. Few parents commented on ACSI thread that their boys are really having a good time now.

Does neighbourhood sec sch has a class cater for previously GEP students?
I mean letβs say P4-P6 a student is in GEP, PSLE score at 230 something, he opt for neigbourhood sch, does he expose to GEP again? -
Verysuperkiasu:
Yes including ART.

Wow, it's also very stressful. It's the same as all IP then.

Hi, this evening DD has almost 70 slides to print for Science notes! Hopefully no more printing is required once the slate PC is in use!

Brenda, you may want to get a printer with cheaper ink cartridges. My fren informed me that sec sch normally requires quite some printing (notes or otherwise) for the kids. DS has to print out his French worksheets which comes to about +/-20 pages weekly. I just bought a new printer cum copier cum scanner from Challenger.
Sch has already started graded quiz, graded assignments, etc. DS lost count of them (I think I've signed at least 3 Maths graded assignments and one of them made me :yikes: ). Tests coming up next week, and I'm leaving him to handle. Hopefully he doesn't give me another \"heart attack\"
!

Hi Pen88n,
Thank you for your advice.
BTW, this was the 2nd HP printer that I bought after 16 April last year.
I also bought the Black Ink cartridges with up to 2.5X more and colour cartridges with 2X more which are more economic. .
Yes, DD also have some test this week for subject Math, Science and Geo etc.
Think this will be the best time to assess how is her performance since we have leaved everything to her to manage. -

Hi, yr DS is taking French too, so does my DD. I wonder why the French teachers want to save money on their printing and expect us as parents to print out.
Laser Printer is cheaper than photocopy and quality is sharper.
