Hi, this evening DD has almost 70 slides to print for Science notes! Hopefully no more printing is required once the slate PC is in use! πŸ˜“

Brenda, you may want to get a printer with cheaper ink cartridges. My fren informed me that sec sch normally requires quite some printing (notes or otherwise) for the kids. DS has to print out his French worksheets which comes to about +/-20 pages weekly. I just bought a new printer cum copier cum scanner from Challenger.

Sch has already started graded quiz, graded assignments, etc. DS lost count of them (I think I've signed at least 3 Maths graded assignments and one of them made me :yikes: ). Tests coming up next week, and I'm leaving him to handle. Hopefully he doesn't give me another \"heart attack\" πŸ˜“ !

        Hi Pen88n,

        Thank you for your advice.

BTW, this was the 2nd HP printer that I bought after 16 April last year.

I also bought the Black Ink cartridges with up to 2.5X more and colour cartridges with 2X more which are more economic. .

Yes, DD also have some test this week for subject Math, Science and Geo etc.

Think this will be the best time to assess how is her performance since we have leaved everything to her to manage.

Hi, yr DS is taking French too, so does my DD. I wonder why the French teachers want to save money on their printing and expect us as parents to print out.

Laser Printer is cheaper than photocopy and quality is sharper.

HP printers really guzzle ink very fast.
And don't buy those jumbo size cartridges. Not worth the money. I've tried both black and color jumbo HP cartridges before. Never lasted as long as promised.
My DW's theory is the ink dry up real fast in an air con or well ventilated room.
So you can try cover up the printer when not in use and see whether can conserve the ink or not.

We bought a bw samsung printer last year. The ink is long lasting. So far still using the same free cartridge. We have finished up the whole bundle of paper, 1000pages? So quite happy. Planning to buy an additional cartridge in the up coming IT show.

But in sec school DS says will need to print color pics as well. But fortunately his school has printing facility $1 for 1 color printout. So decided to leet him do color printing in school and bw at home. πŸ˜„

                  Hey everyone,

You can buy the ink refill for printing. it cost me only $28.00 for black and the three primary colours. I have refilled my canon/HP inkjet countless times and they are still running on the introductory cartridges. I print whatever I want nowadays. Oh. I also refilled my samsung scx4300 laser printer toner too! Haha. My tuition centre literally survives on refill ink and toner. I NEVER once bought cartridges or toner. My HP inkjet is model 1000 and cost me only $39.00 to buy with introductory cartridges. That printer prints an average of 200 sheets a day. LOL. Super low cost and cheapo lah. Now you know why I never charge my students materials fees.

I bought the refill from sim lim square level 5 in a shop called sing ink. Damn professional. Remember bring your cartridge down so that they can show you how to do them at home yourself.

Hope that helps to whoever who want to print full colour anytime they want without cost considerations.

                  Regards,
                  Peter!!

Yes, I too am surprised, after the regular ink drying up of the previous inkjet printer.
It is a laser printer. Monochrome(b/w), prints, copies, scans. $168. Bought it at the IT show last year.
I guess the color toner for the laser printer is more expensive. Anyway mostly we need b/w printing so went for the b/w one. And will use the school library to take color printout as and when needed. πŸ˜‚

Thanks for the info. I think with inkjet printer if you use regularly there is no prob. It is only when you use sparingly that the ink dries up.

Hi, time flies and 1st term holiday (March) will be one month later.

Notice in Secondary one DD hardly has homework for CL and most of the homework is Math and Science.

There is totally no δΉ ε— and 听写!

Think CA1 will be coming soon as DD has done some of her school past year papers for some subject.
