Verysuperkiasu:
We came up with the idea ourselves.
How cool is that! Was it iniated by parents? or the school? It'll be great for exchange of information among parents. Seem ACSI parents are more sociable and willing to take initiative.ngbrdad:
We have a private facebook group for the parents from his class. Good to get information and news.
They will be having an extra day of holiday on 25/1 for CNY. Apparently this is an ACSI tradition. So may take that in mind when planning future CNY holidays.
They had a get together for parents at end of orientation week. When compiling the contact number/email for parents, someone came up with the idea of a facebook group, which is more convenient and probably a better way of communication compared to mass emails. -

Nah, lockers are meant to keep things the kids don't want the parents to see, so not much use to reduce the bag load. DS always say he need to use all the books and material in his bag everyday, so there is only an increase in bag load, never reduction until I do a \"pasar malam\" on him. Now in Secondary school, cannot do liao.
How do you know your DS hides things that he does not want you to see in his school lockers?
Sounds like you've been there and done that, eh?
Care to share with us what you used to hide in your lockers?
DS maybe reading, :censored:

What are the charges at other schools ? -
ngbrdad:
DS only asked for a number lock, didn't hear him mentioned about paying for the locker.

DD has been allocated her locker and has started using it as well.
So far, DD has not asked for any money for the rental.
Will update when I have the info. -

Thank you so much for welcoming me! My nephew is in Marsiling Sec and from what i heard from him is that lockers mostly are available for those taking Sports CCA only.
Ahh...so your nephew is in sec 1 too. Welcome to this thread. We're all here to learn from one another and at times, to de-stress as well.Guardian Nephew:
Hehehe! Cool... i'm more concern about how he is going thru sec 1 life is indeed an eye opener compare to primary sch life.... and turning into a teenage boy real soon.I hope He is adapting well in school with the books that weight a ton...
Care to share with us which school your nephew is in? Doesn't his school have lockers so that he does not need to lug his heavy books to and fro?
Just to share, how do you cope if your child was punish in school for not having a textbook (the school bookshop books was out of stock since Dec 2011) and was made to copy every word of the textbook (example 2pages on the textbk) on a foolscap paper?
I'm kind of shock after all its only the 2nd lesson on that subject. Will appreciate any suggestions/feedback on this. :thankyou:
