I have given my pre-enrolment form to LSH at Safra Jurong about 2 weeks ago. I have indicated that I wish to enrol my girl in May next year. When will LSH contact me? Or am I able to know my queue number now?

Just found out that there’s a change in principal at LSH @ Kent-Vale.

Does anyone know much about Ms Ninna Krewinkel?

Were you referring to principal or vice-principal? LSH@KV only has vice-principal so far. Hence, the new principal does not represent a \"change\".

                hi all,

Any comments on LSH at Safra Jurong? My daughters had just been accepted to their school. How’s their curriculum? I was told that they are not worksheets driven. But, will that cause culture shock to our children when they go into P1?

                Pls advise.

                THANKS!

That’s my worries too, no spelling and ting xie…

How they gonna adapt at P1 ?
Other childcare does have spelling and ting xie only LSH and My First Skool don’t practice that. Don’t understand…

Maybe I'm just a super-relaxed parent, but I'm actually OK with no spelling or ting xie. The kids have at least 10 years of stress ahead of them. No point starting them too early, especially if doing so will turn them off learning.

Having said that, LSH at OCC did introduce spelling and ting xie in the last term of school. And I was like, what?! spelling and ting xie?! More work for mummy! But it was very low stress for the kids. Just to get them used to the idea of being tested. As a result, my son looked forward to spelling and ting xie. And, even though they didn't have spelling or ting xie before that, my son did learn to read and write in English and Chinese and was able to write simple sentences unaided.

If you think having ting xie and spelling will really help your child, you can always do your own. I know some of my son's classmates parents doing that. But this lazy mama didn't bother. Will let you know how he copes with P1 next year! :xedfingers:

                        Hi MummyThreeStreams!

Don't worry! My son's childcare centre didn't have spelling or ting xie. He was able to cope with the spelling and ting xie in P1 this year. His childcare centre didn't even teach him any Maths, and he was able to cope with it, likewise. Hence, I don't think you need to be too worried about this.
