Hi, my son got 219 only for his PSLE and i am staying in Serangoon Central. Wanted to put Kuo Chuan as 1st choice but the COP minimum is 226. Any idea will it be risky of not getting? How the sequence of choices of school affecting his chance?

226 is far from 219...even you put 1st choice also no use, no chance wan

but if you appeal, you can show Kuo Chuan that at least you put them first choice....but to appeal for 7 points difference is very challenging, though not impossible. by all means put it as first choice

it will NOT affect your other choices that will be sure to get in, that is, lower COP than 219...the sequences of your choices will NOT affect the one that your son can get in...so you must include at least one choice that you are sure to get in and you don't mind to go to, in case all appeals are rejected

Thks. But COP 226 was last year’s. It is subject to fluctuation based on demand. Thinking of taking the risk to try Kuo Chuan. 2nd choice Holy Innocents High the cop is 219 same as his score. If the above two cannot get. 3rd choice will be serangoon garden sec. Any comments about the choices?

it will fluctuate, at most plus/minus 1 or 2 points....

by all means put kuo chuan as first choice and work on appeal

then second choice put HIH...but what if it cop goes up from 219 ? so you must still have another safe choice...sure to get in and don't mind to go for 4 years if all appeals fail

is safer that you use all 6 choices....in case of fluke year you don't even get in serangoon gdn...which is very unlikely though...any other choices between 219 and 188 ?

                      averism:
Hey there, I'm 12 and I'm trying to look for a secondary school to put as my first choice. I got 243 + 2 for my PSLE and I live in Pasir Ris. (East)

I was from red swastika school.
Here are some of my choices:
                      Ngee Ann Secondary School : (233) NON-SAP
cos their facilities I really like and it's at Tampines, very close to where I live. But... I was from the first class and I thought returning to RSS in the ngee Ann uniform with all my other friends in uniforms like DHS, TJC, I'll be very embarrassed.

Chung Cheng High School (Main) : 237 SAP
Cos well, mostly because it's said to be a 'good school' and their students are mostly disciplined so I won't fall into bad company. It's at Dakota. A little far, but I THINK I can handle.

Anglican High School : 243 SAP
I know this seems to be my 'should-be' first choice since it's the highest in ranking. But when they came to my school for a talk, while promoting their school, I really didn't enjoy it. Their facilities I don't really like and they focus more on sports as well, I'm not good at that, AT ALL. Its at Tanah Merah btw. I heard travelling there isn't all that good.

So... These schools are more or less the schools I will 95% surely get into with my results and I know it's a big decision so I wanna choose it wisely. I'm good at aesthetics and Chinese. I'm interested in singing, aesthetics, and debating stuff lol. But... I didn't really have any CCAs in primary school.

HAHAHA, ONE LAST QUESTION. If you know, does these schools have prom? 😛 and are there any suggestions you have? Please help! :?:
Go for Anglican High. It is really a good school. Follow by Chung Cheng High. Both are good SAP schools. You should be able to get into one of these schools. However, you will be studying in the school for 4 years. You have to like the school. If you think you prefer Chung Cheng than Anglican then go for it.

2nd choice---HCI (or should i place as 1st choice instead and forgo RI?)
