Secondary School Selection 2012

Thks. But COP 226 was last year’s. It is subject to fluctuation based on demand. Thinking of taking the risk to try Kuo Chuan. 2nd choice Holy Innocents High the cop is 219 same as his score. If the above two cannot get. 3rd choice will be serangoon garden sec. Any comments about the choices?

Thks. 3rd choice i put serangoon gdn which the cop is 188 sure can get. In this case, i didn’t use my remaining 3 choices. How?

is safer that you use all 6 choices....in case of fluke year you don't even get in serangoon gdn...which is very unlikely though...any other choices between 219 and 188 ? -
Cresent gilrs or Anderson Secondary?Psle score 245. help needed pls?

Go for Anglican High. It is really a good school. Follow by Chung Cheng High. Both are good SAP schools. You should be able to get into one of these schools. However, you will be studying in the school for 4 years. You have to like the school. If you think you prefer Chung Cheng than Anglican then go for it.Hey there, I'm 12 and I'm trying to look for a secondary school to put as my first choice. I got 243 + 2 for my PSLE and I live in Pasir Ris. (East)
I was from red swastika school.
Here are some of my choices:
Ngee Ann Secondary School : (233) NON-SAP
cos their facilities I really like and it's at Tampines, very close to where I live. But... I was from the first class and I thought returning to RSS in the ngee Ann uniform with all my other friends in uniforms like DHS, TJC, I'll be very embarrassed.
Chung Cheng High School (Main) : 237 SAP
Cos well, mostly because it's said to be a 'good school' and their students are mostly disciplined so I won't fall into bad company. It's at Dakota. A little far, but I THINK I can handle.
Anglican High School : 243 SAP
I know this seems to be my 'should-be' first choice since it's the highest in ranking. But when they came to my school for a talk, while promoting their school, I really didn't enjoy it. Their facilities I don't really like and they focus more on sports as well, I'm not good at that, AT ALL. Its at Tanah Merah btw. I heard travelling there isn't all that good.
So... These schools are more or less the schools I will 95% surely get into with my results and I know it's a big decision so I wanna choose it wisely. I'm good at aesthetics and Chinese. I'm interested in singing, aesthetics, and debating stuff lol. But... I didn't really have any CCAs in primary school.
HAHAHA, ONE LAST QUESTION. If you know, does these schools have prom?
and are there any suggestions you have? Please help! :?: -
Hi, need some advice,

1st choice ---RI (is it realistic? )
2nd choice---HCI (or should i place as 1st choice instead and forgo RI?)
3rd-6th choice, need some help...

Hi, my son got 219 only for his PSLE and i am staying in Serangoon Central. Wanted to put Kuo Chuan as 1st choice but the COP minimum is 226. Any idea will it be risky of not getting? How the sequence of choices of school affecting his chance?
By putting it as a first choice does not increase his chance. It is by merit. The school will take in those with higher score first. His chance of getting into Kuo China is low. You might end up wasting a choice. -
Active kid:
Chances of getting into HCI is higher than RI. But no harm putting RI as first choice. It is base on merit. By putting RI as your first choice will not increase your chance. At most you end up in HCI. You should put NJC as third choice. It is very near HCI (SAP/IP) follow by VS or DH. Reserve the last 2 choices to schools with COP within 250-255.Hi, need some advice,

Active kid:
There's a chance you won't be able to get into RI with 258, especially as COPs for top schools are likely to go up this year. But if you prefer RI over HCI, go ahead and put RI as first choice and HCI as second choice. If you don't get RI, you'll be posted to the next school down your list which has a vacancy for you given your T-score.Hi, need some advice,

The next few schools you named are all good schools. Consider their curriculum (SAP, A levels or IB Diploma - which do you prefer?) There's a chance that you might get into your 3rd choice school if RI and HCI's COPs go up. So choose that option carefully. Also note that the COP for NJC was 258 last year, DHS 256. ACSI and SJI IB programmes will also be 25X. Make sure you have at least one school in there with a very safe chance of you getting in should you fail in your other options. -
Hi there
My DD score 234. Any advice on which is a good school to apply in Hougang/Serangoon/Sengkang area if I am looking at COP of 230 and below?
Worry the COP will be raise this year as there are so many dragon kids. Those with COP around 233-235 in this area are not increasing classes .
