My daughter score 238 + 1 . Any chance of getting into Nan Hua (COP 243 last year) if I appeal for her?

Miss by 4 pts (2011 COP:243), do you have anything to back you up. e.g. performing arts or sports. You may want to go down to the school and talk to the P/VP abt your chances.

The 6 choices of the school will be as follow:
      1. Nan hua
      2. Bukit pangjang
      3. Commonwealth
      4. Swiss cottage
      5. Clementi town
      6. Crescent girl

      Advise pls

You are wasting your choice 6 and 2.

Base on last year COP, I would have my 6 choices:
      1. Bukit panjang -6
      2. Crescent girl -5
      3. Nan hua (SAP) -4
      4. Commonwealth +2
      5. Fairfield +3
      6. Swiss cottage +3

Unless you really wish to go NHHS, then you may remove no 1 and 2. and add another 2 choices.

I put Nan Hua as 1st choice as my DD reaaly wish to go to that school.

As for Bukit Pangjang and Crescent, i am hoping that COP will drop so that i can still appeal as it is in her choice of school. Why you put Fairfield above Swiss Cottage? Is it a better school?

In your scenario, most likely your daughter will end up in commonwealth. So be prepared to appeal and you must have a very strong case else the school might not consider you. As your choice of Crescent Girls, you might wish to shift it up to 3rd choice. Also, you might want to check with the schools if the order of choices you made does it in any way affect your appeal chances.

Actually, both Fairfield and Swiss are equally good in terms of COP. You can put it in any of the last 2 slots. To me, I just haven't heard anything about swiss after they moved out from Bt Timah. As for Fairfield, I just find the students quite well behave.

      Thanks for your advice!!!

My son’s T-score 225. However, he wants to go Maris Stella badly which has a COP of 232 for non- affiliated students, if i put my choices as follows, any risk? Am I wasting my choices?

        1. Hai Sing (225)
        2. Maris Stella (232)
        3. Dunman Sec *229)
        4. Temasek (230)
        5. Pasir Ris (221)
        6. Bowen (223) or Mayflower (220)

Can someone kindly give me advice, feeling very lost

My DS scored 244. Initially, we wanted to apply for SJI (cut off 242) as first choice. However, after going to Maris Stella High (cut off 232) yesterday, we were impressed by the school facilities and programme. Moreover, MS High is nearer.

Anyone has any views about SJI and whose children are there.
Is the learning experience positive? Any idea if CCA can be opted as a subject just like what MS High offers. I noted that they dont offer basketball as CCA but does SJI have a basketball court?

If your son meets the COP for Hai Sing he will definitely get into Hai Sing. Maris Stella is a wasted choice bec if he can't make it to HS, he definitely won't make it to MS and the computer will just go down to his 3rd choice and so forth. If he wants to try MS, then put MS as first choice. Then if he doesn't make it for MS, the computer will consider him for HS if his t-score makes the COP.

My ds scored 232. My 1st 4 choices as follows:

              1. TKSS (COP: 233) - Nearer to home, so near yet so far.
              What's the chances of appeal?
2/3/4 Random Dunman Sec (COP:229) / Temasek Sec (COP: 230) & Hai Sing Cat (COP:225).

Which sch should I place for 2nd, 3rd & 4th based on the school?

I'm looking at Pasir Ris Crest also. What about 6th choice?

I hope to hear more comments and recommendations on the above schools.
              Maris stella?

                  For score of 248+3

Will it be risky to put SCGS (o level) as 1st choice?
Am worried now as I read some where that cop for O level track for new ip school will be increased.
I need some advice please for my choice as follows
                  1) SCGS o level
                  2) St nick o level
                  3) Cedar o level
                  4) Anderson
                  5) Nan Chiau
                  6) Xinmin

                  TIA
At st nick, u can enjoy the 3 bonus points.

Hi, need some advise on selecting sec. school. My ds has 252 +2. . We are staying in hougang area, and he is unable to decide between vs and cath high. He prefers vs a little over cath high, however distance is important too, which I guess it takes another 15 mins further for vs. Anybody can share any advise or experiences in these 2 schools? Appreciate so much.

Are u looking at ip or o level?

I place Hai Sing as first choice to guarantee him a place in a school. Also, in case the COP gets raised to 226 then he wont make it, but at least that will make my appeal easier. I am considering appealing to MS based on his CCA-Band. As for my 6th choice, do you know which is better Bowen or Mayflower.? Both are very far, not ideal, but I dont have better ones near my house

Putting MS as 2nd choice and HS as first choice - is this strategy a wise one? Sigh, such a tough decision
