Oh, now I understand better on what you meant. MPM is the only Math enrichment that my boy is exposed to and it worked for him cos he is someone who is very used to independent learning from young.

Yes, I do agree if a child is weak in Math, tuition would be better. My niece tried MPM and it didnt work for her so now she is having Math tuition at home instead.

Sorry, may I know how old is your niece?
I don't see alot of older kids in MPM, guessing it may not work for older kids....

I am told by one of the teachers that while MPM teaches the MOE syllabus, the format of the question is different, so may not be as beneficial for the upper primary school children, and definitely not for PSLE.

Having gone through the entire P1 syllabus this year, I think there are areas that MPM does very well. If the concepts can be well absorbed by the kids, that will help lay the foundation. However, each workbook only has 16 pages, so for students who need more practice, MPM may seem lacking in this area. For students who do not want to do too much, it is actually great! 😂

hmmmm…MPM is from P1 to P6. If remembered correctly, a child needs to join by P3, the centre bshould not accept a P4 kid.

              Hi,
Me too was wondering which one to send. I attended the briefing session in Kumon. I had then decided to send my DD to MPM and now she is enjoying so much. She can now do her calculation in school faster than before. The most important for me to choose MPM is not to kill her interest in Maths. 🕺

                      Hi,

My DD1 is with MPM. When you write beef up do you mean stretch or build the foundation?

For MPM, it does not train on the foundation. It’s more of enrichment, so it’s aim is to stretch and train on the logical and process thinking skills.

hi parents, I am from NTU and doing a project on early childhood maths, I would like to purchase some MPM books for reference. It doesn’t matter if it is used copy or in bad condition. Pls send me a PM if you would like to get some returns on your used books. Thanks.
