If the child completed first page till green line for 2 materials in 1 hr. There is still half an hour for him to complete the homework part. It shouldn’t be an issue.

Sometimes it is the kid’s request that she/he doesn’t want to continue. Reason: tired.

You as parents can reinforce to your kids ‘if there is still time, please do the homework part.’

[Does he complete both bks, from 1st page to last page, in the centre?[/quote]

No completed half only i.e page 1 to 9 or 10 of each book. They will keep 1/2 of it homework. Teacher will message us to pick him up.

As long as the child completes the required work in the class. He/she may goes home.

you can make known your request to the teacher. Because some parents insist that homework has to be done at home. There are funny funny requests by all sort of people.
Some kids never brings the materials home, parents never protest.
Some kids do only 1 material in 1 week due to poor learning attitude, parents never protest.

I believe the homework is intended for reinforcement. It’s more effective when the child can recall what he had done in class and then tries it out on his own at home. That way, the teacher also can assess whether he is able to perform without guidance. The 2nd part of the booklet mirrors the first part of the book so if the child should be able to do it on his own at home. If he isn’t able to do it, then it means there is a gap to be addressed by the teacher when the teacher reviews the homework.

                Hi,

I’m thinking of transferring my DD from jelic to mpm (different branch).
May I know does she need to take any test to assess at which level of mpm does she go to? The mpm teacher we spoke to claim no test is needed…
She’s 5yo & has been attending jelic for about 1+years.

There should be assessment before going to MPM, whether the child had joined JELIC before or not. This is to gauge the child’s level and to determine which bk should the child begin.

Maybe you ask why there’s no assessment and decide if you find the answer acceptable.
