Yes, there is HW to be done.
I heard one mother requested the instructor NOT to give her daughter homework, and no need to bring any materials home. She just let her daughter to attend once a week about less than 2 hrs (higher level).
So it is still flexible. You can make a request.
MPM does help one-third of the effort, another one-third is from the kid, another one-third from the parents.

Lot put kids in MPM from k1, 2 and P1.Hi all,
Newbie here. Was looking around this site and chance upon MPM, I took interest in this tread becos both my kids (9 n 7 yrs old) are in it for the past 3 years (wouldn't say which centre.....sorry). After going thru pages and pages of complaints (often) and praise (quite seldom), I was quite amazed at what people think of MPM.
Being a kiasu parent, we send both our kids to enrichment classes since they were very young, as far as I can rem they have attended most of the popular class available in Singapore. Most of the centres here especially those established program like MPM, Learning lab, I Can Read, Berries, Shichida, Mind Matters etc have very strict rules and policy with regards to deposit, changing of class, last minute cancellation, make up lesson. Very often, we as parent tends to get upset just becos we can't get what we want and very often it is us that aren't following the policy and wants to make a fuss out of it.
I'm not speaking on behalf of any centres or have relative owing any franchise, we are victims ourselves too. Quite frankly, many times I admit we are the one that is trying our luck and get rebutted simply these centres are running very professionally with proper records. Put yourself in their shoe, what if you have arranged the teachers and allocate the seats for the student who can't make it hours before the class starts........they are running a business.
I relate to the parent as above who have issue with wrong marking, we had the same case and feedback to the teachers, seriously what can we do.....nothing much, at most we leave. The reason we continue since they are K1 is this program helps them to think creatively and most importantly they ENJOY the class!!!
These are just my two cents after so many enrichment classes.....
Anyone go further? anyone put P2, P3,P4 kids in MPM.
Sometime i find it is over creative and is out of what is necessary for MOE syllabus....... pls correct me if am wrong.
Mine started K2, now P1 only........... I feel is good for perhaps K1 onward till P2? -

My centre too tends to mark wrongly and some teacher gave answer inorder to finish fast.Dear Parents
We had such a bad experience with MPM at Clementi that we wanted everyone to be aware.
First, the school teachers are not well trained. Four times we have spotted the teachers marking the answers wrongly despite us telling the principal each time. Parents should take time to check the markings. We checked with some parents and they said the same thing too.
Second, go through the questions with your children. See if the answers are truly from them. Apparently, in order to get the children off the class on time, the teachers tend to give the answers away - especially the last few questions.
Third, we also find the principal at MPM Clementi so unprofessional in her dealings with class make-up and fees. Be sure you keep good tracks of classes and make-up classes.
We hope parents do not just sign up for enrichment classes just by the \"brand\" of the school. Most of these schools are franchises and the person(s) running these franchises can make a real different in whether the child really get to learn anything. We learnt our lesson the hard way.
