Can anyone explain what MPM Math program is all about?
Heard that it is very good, trains the kids to critically think the way like current math syllabus… -
MPM math aims to improve confidence and inculcate independent problem-solving It trains children in Math concepts and calculation skills while promoting TRUE problem solving skills – children will be able to solve sophisticated Math problems using basic skills they have learnt. Progressively, a positive self-learning attitude develops in MPM-trained children.

Alternatively, you may wish to contact the MPM branch nearest to your home. -
My girl is starting P1 next year. Would it be too later to enrol her in MPM next year? And my main concern is will it contradict MOE’s teaching syllabus? I do not want her to get all confused…
-
It is never too late to enrol your child. In fact, this is a nice time to prepare your child. Rest be assured that your child will not be confused. MPM Maths for P1 covered our local Syllabus. On top of that, we include Thinking Skills. This is very important other than calculations.

hi clh,
i remembered that i read somewhere that MPM’s upper primary math programme are only opened to existing MPM’s lower primary students. Is that true? -
“Yes, it’s true that MPM do not take in students from the upper primary as the curriculum are design in a Spiral approach building the foundation of mathematics in young children before introducing them to more complex and challenging concepts. If students are not with us from young, they might not be able to catch up with the materials.
Moreover, MPM focus on regulating student’s thinking skills thru our PSL (Personalize System of Learning) training them at young age to solve problems independently. Progressively, a positive self-learning attitude develops in MPM-trainied students. Howvever, students at upper primary might not posses such learning attitude and they will expect answers or solutions to be spoon fed to them directly.”

How old is your kid? I think you can try to get the info and read from <a href=\"http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=128\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"All about pre-school maths enrichment\">this thread</a> if your kid is pre-schooler. Or from <a href=\"http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=287\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"All about primary school maths enrichment\">this thread</a> if your kid is primary shooler. I have read some MPM comments there.
