      Mama,

St Stephen primary is affliated to St Joseph Secondary.

It is stated that close to 40% of St Joseph Secondary school boys come from her affliated primary schools :-
      http://www.sji.edu.sg/subpage.php?id=135

      In 2011 :-
the Psle cut off point for the affliated primary schools, to enter into St Joseph Secondary, was 238 .

      refer source of info:-
click under “Principal Briefing” (refer slide number 24 to 29)
      http://www.sjijunior.edu.sg/cms/index.php?page=p6d

      regarding bullies:-
Most schools do have bullies. The question is :-
      How intense ?
Generally, if is an all boys schools - boys being boys tend to be rowdy, since there isn't the presence of girls to balance up, ie. girls behave like ladies, while boys supposed to behave like a gentleman.

Even in my niece p3 class at Ngee Ann primary -
Yes, she said there is one bully in her p3 class. But my cousin taught her how to ignore and fend off the bully. So, the bully dont create trouble for her. She has to learn along the way - how to handle bullies. If she doesn't encounter bully in primary school, she may encounter later on one day in secondary school, or at pre-u, or at university, or in the working world when she grow up. So, she has to learn somehow.

Even in other all boys' school like ACS primary, my friends with sons studying there also mention that there are bullies. The issue is ... How intense is it ?

          Hi,

Just to update those that need to know, st Stephens reverte to say that hey would not be able to disclosed the results for 2012.

          Here is the email response.
          Dear Madam,

Thank you for expressing interest in registering your child in St. Stephen’s School. Holistic Education is very much the focus of the school, where every Stephenian is a Caring, Confident and Independent Learner, excelling for the Glory of God.In accordance with Every School, a Good School, all schools have been moving away from a single ‘Yardstick’, in this instance, the PSLE results. The school has been achieving both Quality and Quantity passes (above National level) for English, Mathematics and Science. We are still striving towards meeting national level for both Quality and Quantity for Mother Tongue.I regret to inform you that we are not able to disclose the actual figures of our school’s performance for Y2012.

          Thank You

Why so secretive? Lots of school share on their website their scores no matter how good or how bad...why is St Stephen like that?
            :yikes:

maybe because St Stephen Mother Tongue (Chinese) is weak.

not sure about Malay or Tamil

Perhaps standards for the other subjects are not as good compared to other schools in the area - like Ngee Ann, CHIJ Katong, TKPS and the rest.

Its best that parents may a wise decision. Hiding such pertinent information to potential parents who may consider their school does not really speak well for themselves…Anyway - thats all our guesses…parents should think carefully…

Hi, as promised to revert - to close the loop, TKPS also got back to say on phone that they will not be sharing the 2011 results, anymore. As its old info, 2 years ago.

So unless someone has that old information, there is no way to get it.

However, my TKPS parent friend shared that the express for TKPS students. This was not on their website.

This is comparable to Ngee Ann of 68.5.

                        That’s all I have!

Happy deciding! And good luck mommies…
